Spare room has thrown me a bit today as we don't really have one, we have a small bedroom that baby isn't in yet, so our dumping ground, but I couldn't find a good time to do it, when baby is asleep it's too noisy for me to be in there, when she's awake we are downstairs. Might have to defer to the weekend.

So kept the hotspots clear, although I am realising I have more hotspots than I first thought, so not all clear ...

Hotspot 1 - kitchen sides - clear, been s&s all day
Hotspot 2 - coffee table in front room - tidy, small DD1 toy out
Hotspot 3 - tv unit / sideboard thingy - clear
    Hotspot 4 - stairs - needs attention!
Hotspot 5 - landing area on top of bookcases - needs attention!
Hotspot 6 - kitchen table - couple of items, could attract others ...

There seem to be a lot of places in our small house that meet the hotspot criteria, so now I am aware of them, I am going to try and keep on top of the ones I have clear, and then bring the other three on board & keep them there as much as I can.

Due to not being able to do small bedroom, instead tackled under the sink cupboard which has seemed one of those jobs I didn't want to do, and happy with the results. DW on, emptied and this evenings plates put in for cleaning tomorrow.

Chilli for tea & two lots of leftovers to freeze.

    Kiddies bathed.

DD2 seems to not want me to have an evening, so in with her for evening feed (earlier than normal) typing this, probably go to bed myself afterwards as she'll wake me two, three or more times in night, sleeping much shorter stretches than she used to, almost six months, so we'll see if the solids in a couple of weeks makes any difference.

Can I ask what the sticks are for that people mention? I've read about the spoons, but haven't seen the origin of the sticks!

You throw the sticks to get rid of the black dogs (aka depression)

Ahh, I understand, excellent, I may have occasional need of sticks and spoons then, I guess my dogs are more grey than black, but I'm sure they'll chase sticks regardless. Thanks Pollybear! :)

I'm giving up on today, the 'spare room' that is on today's list for decluttering seems to be the whole house. At least the new vacuum cleaner has had a lot of exercise.
Got home early to find scaffolding still up (so office window has to be left open all night), fewer than the proposed solar panels will actually fit on our roof than the sales guy and the measuring guy had predicted (but at least it did not jeopardise our discount, which I thought was dependent on a certain number being installed - they conceded it was their fault and are sending a cheque for the ones we can't use) and dust/mugs of half drunk coffee/bits of wood chippings everywhere. That's despite OH's best efforts at keeping the place tidy (and he's good).

Later this evening the phone inexplicably refused to work for half an hour then just as curiously fixed itself.
Utilities company, who I'd had a discussion with 2 days ago when they refused to talk to me when I rang up to give them the requested meter readings (I'm not the Named Person on the bill), rang up to ask for meter readings. An interesting conversation:
Me: "But I gave them to you 2 days ago".
Them; "Yes but that was for bill purposes; this is for another tracking."
Me: "Can't you use the ones I gave you 2 days ago as there is an electrician putting a new meter in right now"
Them (grudgingly)"I suppose so. Can you tell me them again?"
Me (incredulous) "Can't you look them up? I can't actually remember the two, 6 digit numbers I told you 2 days ago!"..........."OK, the electrician has moved, it's
. The gas meter is outside."
Them (cheerfully) "That's ok I'll wait, it's no problem."
Me: (less cheerfully) "It will be a problem if it is raining.. " so outside in my slippers I trudged; clutching the phone, the meter key and a torch. Dropped the torch.

Is it just me these things happen to? I know it's not, as we all share them.....just as well as otherwise we'd go mad......
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.

Narco... I'd have told them to sod off.

Today I have.. banged my knee on a drawer, foot filed a piece of glass out of my foot with a foot grater.. I thought it was a verucca and was just going to cut it out with my nail clippers.. hardcore me ;) I dropped a huge box on my head from 6ft up .. no one sprang to my aid of course. I slipped on nothing and almost dislocated my hip, I nearly broke a toe on a book Tiddles left on the bedroom floor.. and... I boke a chunk off a filled tooth scoffing toffee .. I am a walking disaster.. you see why I stay in my chair??

I keep getting awful cramp too. :(

No flying for me for two days as DD is poorly and is attached to me like a limpet :(

Hopefully today she will be a bit better and I can catch up. Otherwise my first week of flying will feel like a bit of a flop!

On a good note I had my baby scan yesterday and all is good :D

Hope everyone has a good day

Morning all. My final 'long day' in Nottingham. Oz is frantic at being left so long so often at the moment, he's still following me round the house. After today, and once I've finished all the tax returns, I am taking February to regroup and arrange my life. Lots of plans, hope some of them come to fruition. I've been keeping up with minimal flying this week, but things aren't too bad.

Welcome to all the newbies. Sticks thrown for anyone in need - I seem to have a few spare at the moment. Long may it last.

    Morning all

Plans went awry yesterday as needed to LO sit for 2 hours next door whilst DF went to seen eldest son in hosp. So tea delayed somewhat! Had great time though I am aching in parts I never knew I had today!!!

Today up early as I am needed to watch LO assembly with DF!!! Will not therefore get going until after 10 but when I do this is my list-
Thursday - bathroom and cruddy study!
    15 minutes...
    Declutter the floors and desk!
[STRIKE]Remove all the dirty laundry[/STRIKE] done yesterday
    30 minutes to spare...
    Mop/vacuum the floors
Polish the bath/shower/loo/basins/keyboard/mouse/monitor etc.. defrag/virus scan/spyware scan the pc while this does
Empty and clean out the bins
    Got an hour...
    [STRIKE]Wash any curtain/shower curtain/screen/bathmats that needs [/STRIKE][STRIKE]doing[/STRIKE]did yesterday
Shine mirrors and screens and windows
    Clean any radiators/fires
    Extras
    Straighten the towel cupboard
Wipe down any chairs/sofas in the study
    deweb and dust these rooms!

    Also
Monday - Master bedroom & landing
    Vacuum mattress
Tuesday - Kitchen and Dining Mess
Wipe the front of the units, kickboards and the large appliances
Wipe dining table - that is my study so removed one task above
    Clean filters and detergent dispensers
    Wednesday - sprog/spare room
    15 minutes...
    Clear the floor of gibble
    HHI and paway

Take photos of DS clothes and spare room floor gibble in case any no longer loved!!

    Prepare SC beef casserole
    PAck for weekend away!

THat's the lot - think I may be busy. The bathroom is my hardest room due to health reasons so there will be lots of 15 mins and a break.

Have a great day everyone and sticks, spoons and whatever else if needed to get things done.

Why is it that things always get worse before they get better? :rotfl:
