    G'day

Just decluttering some lunch and a cuppa. Am in the office for another 3hrs (in theory, never happens that way on Wednesdays).

    Conversation this morning:
Me: OK kids you are going to breakfast club then school and nursery, then back to school club. I'll pick you up at tea time.
<DS 'needs' to know who will collect him and where>
    DD: OK mummy
DS: Yaay! I need to play!
Me: Sure, you like school club then?
    DS: No!
    :rotfl: boys!
So he wants to play, but also wants me to pick them up as early as I can so he can play at home too. I don't finish quite early enough to get to school in time for 3.30 on Wednesdays, hence school club, then I kind of have to leave it till at least 4.15 or I'm disrupting their snack tea. Plus I pay £6.50 per child so we might as well use it! Anyway, 4.45 is the half-way point which gives me an hour to catch up at home and get tea ready, plus they can play with friends or watch tv. They decided pizza tonight and I think I'll make some carrot and coriander soup... and possibly meal plan...

Well I'm likely to spend the next week flying and decluttering! The threatened 7am scaffolding didn't arrive till 8am which caused much moaning from me and silent moaning (he's very good natured but I know what he was thinking) from OH, who had taken the day off to oversee the solar panel installation. He'd planned to declutter his office, so much of it is in the spare room. Problem 1: scaffolders wanted to stick something through the window of my office, so I had to rapidly scoop everything off desk, dismantle/unplug computer and all its attachments and put it.....ah ...not in the spare room. Oh well, I needed a kick up the *** to transfer the contents of my old computer onto the new one, and sort out the new arrangement, so looks like I've just had that kick.
Problem 2: electrician started trying to plan suitable route for the cables from the loft to the meter, either via the stairs ("will the stairs lift off if I lift the carpet? May have to get a carpenter in......") or through a cupboard in my office (which OH emptied yesterday as we use it as a linen store and plan to declutter it....guess where it is...yup, in the spare room). So we now seem to have the entire contents of our upstairs all in the spare room. At this point, I said "I know it's early and I'll hit the traffic, but I'm going to work to get out of the way".
So here I am at uni, with a gap between students.

Somehow I can predict a very long fly list for the next few days.

Great thoughts from all of you on getting rid of sentimental stuff; I'm hopeless at it, even (embarrassed to admit) old emails from people who are still alive. It's why it is taking me so long to swap computers, I keep re-reading emails and 'stuff' with a view to deleting unnecessaries.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.

I have 18 mince pies cooking, and 18 more cut out. Thats the two easy packets of pastry dealt with. Worked out they're 125cals each so I'll be needing to write that on the bag when I freeze them lol I need to look into getting some stackable cooling racks as well. I just don't have the work surface to have more than one at a time out so have to use the dining table then I only have 2 racks so batch baking ends up being a game of stack the items pyramid style to make room for the hot stuff from the oven :( I think I'll go have a mooch to see what I can find on Monday in town with DD ;)

My kitchen looks like its been snowing as there's flour all over the worktop :rotfl::rotfl: Won't take long to tidy up, and the next thing going in the oven after the mince pies is cakes so that'll free up lots of room as I use ingredients up ;)

Off to take them out the oven

Today I have flown to my SIL's and chatted over coffee, not seen her in ages so was getting the update on DN1's health.

Since getting home I have decluttered a Bounty and not a lot else.

Making the most of a rare Wednesday off work!
