    Ionafan, what are 'jack-ups?'
https://www.urbandictionary.com defines jack-ups as "Excessively short trousers resulting in the exposure of ankles, and in extreme cases, calves." (Not what your upper-class Victorian piano would be seen dead in, either!) My growing sons used to refuse to wear trousers that showed more than an inch of sock, for fear of being laughed out of the school playground :p

The same dictionary defines "budgie" as "Condensed version of old scots playground taunt “Has your budgie died?”. Used to tease people who have outgrown their trousers or shrunk them in the wash, thus exposing their ankles. The trousers were like a flag at half mast (a sign of respect for the dead) hence the question. Popular in 1990s Glasgow schools."

I'm on count down to the needley event at 2.50, and hoping that the new dentist knows his stuff about phobic patients. For the last 25 years I've had to have a GA in order to allow someone I don't know very well to put an electric drill in my mouth, switch it on and apply it to a part of my person. I'm consoling myself with soup.
Good luck, Honey Bear - will be thinking of you. I braved the dentist's surgery yesterday. I hope someone is escorting there, holding your hand as you drift off into oblivion and bringing you home afterwards.

I've cleaned FOUR bathrooms today, thankfully one of them was my own. I will admit to not having given my bath a good scrub in ages (I have been wiping, just not really going for it) but I've done it today and buffed it to a shine while I was at it. Unfortunately, I now need a shower :o Makes a change from the skids messing up my hard work I s'pose!

Dinner is already prepped and waiting to be reheated for 6.30, feeling ahead of myself which usually means something will go t!ts up soon :P

    Hello all

PPA afternoon - I will be spending it doing the PTA accounts for the meeting this evening.

I have realised that my entire life atm is spent doing things in order of urgency.

Another urgent job is petrol for the Valli Jalopy

Crammed in a little flying between school run and popping into town with my mum. Did a little shopping and took DD for lunch "we are ladies, aren't we?":rotfl: was only Mr M cafe...

But, 2xwm done. Mostly bedding and towels but all laundry is in the basket now and clean towels put out. Also emptied DW and set it going again.

I have cakey bakey things so will start that tomorrow. Also purchased a little robot notebook for DS. I'm leaving it under his pillow on his birthday with a letter on the first page, and asking him to write back to me. Thought it would be nice to leave each other little "secret" notes. And it will help his reading and writing, plus we'll be able to see how he's developed throughout the year :T we also bought a gift for the boy he's sharing the party with, plus some cards. DD chose a sweet one for her brother :A

Need to go get DS in half an hour. Apparently my dad is coming this aft. He said he'd walk to school with us  <totally unheard of>

Work progressing slowly. I'm about half way through the job, but the washing is basically done (except the sofa cover, DD can help me take that off when she gets in), and I've drank way too many hot blackcurrant drinks, I fear I may be purple by the end of the day :rotfl:

DD is on her way home so I guess I should think about something for tea. Might just do tinned spaghetti on toast, its quick, its simple and we haven't had it in years :D

Back to work now I've finished my drink. Nearly time to start putting it all on the system.

Thanks Ionafan for the spoons link - wish I had had that 18 years ago!! A family member still does not understand - having an endless spoon supply themself. Have given up trying to explain - just try and walk a mile in my shoes comes to mind.:rotfl:

Just going to do HHI whilst watching Antiques prog and that will be me for the day/week. Anything left over will just have to wait.
Have a great weekend all - catch up with you all on next week's Fred.

    Afternoon,

Have decluttered 2 cups of tea, sorted the kitchen drawer and working on the unit fronts and down the side of the cooker which is plastered in icing from Christmas - which means its been there a month - nasty.

I liked the spoon link also - I could have done with that a few years ago to try and explain how I used to feel. It took me back. I only wish I could dish out spoons and sticks to all. The thought is a start and everything else can wait.
