There have been developments just now from the buyer which I won't go into, but I know she knows what she has done is wrong and I feel this will now be resolved. Call it guilty or realisation that I won't give in but I'm saying no more apart from I HAVE won and I was always positive that I would

And these developments are? It does seem quite the turnaround ... and all in the space of twenty minutes!

If you managed to find her on Facebook perhaps she's dumb enough to make everything on there public. Check to see if there are any pictures of her in your coat.

The CEO of eBay added her on FB and told her to pay the OP back.

To those of little faith ---- I mentioned I had found her on FB and told her about the debt letter, well after a discussion with her she messages me earlier to say she will voluntarily pay £38.47 leaving £20. She knows she still has my coat even though she won't admit it and obviously feels guilty that I am 'in trouble' with debtors now because of her actions
  • suesie i have read this thread with interest, could you please give us some information on whether you have got a favourable conclusion?

Personally I would NOT have contacted her on facebook at all, if its an open profile there is a small possibility she may post a picture of her in the coat in question or one of her friends MAY tag her with her in it. if so you need to copy the whole screen by doing the following press PRINT SCREEN on your upper right hand part of the keyboard and pasting this image into microsoft paint then save as jpeg. there you will have at least some proof should this happen.

I applaud you for at least TRYING to do something, you should check her rating to see if there are any comments of bad behavior in the past or any bad ratings, i'm glad you wrote to the CEO that does help i find in whatever complaint you have, whether contacting the police in her area would have been helpful i dont know.

For those people who were negative, i am disappointed at the tone of your replies, how would you feel if this happened to you, theft is after all STILL THEFT!

Admit it. You settled in via a Candy Crush tournament adjudicated by the eBay CEO
  • wow she is going to make a payment that is good but why isn't she paying the whole lot, for me that is admission of guilt by paying anything at all. I would consult with Ebay about reinstating your account and send them the email or whatever written confirmation that she willing to pay that amount and also forward this to the CEO.

Would you prefer to give someone honest advice, even if its something they might not want to hear? Or be "positive" in spite of the circumstances and potentially cost the OP more money/put them in a worse position than if you had been honest with them?
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride
