Hmm haven't had much issues with Micras around here...

But any time you see a Daewoo Matiz is pretty terrifying.

    Adding my Micra driver anecdote.

My OH car needed a new battery and he had just had a hernia op so I had to take it to local Halfords in Halesowen to get a replacement.

Whilst driving past the local MacDonalds (which is in the middle of a one way system), a battered old green Micra with a woman who could have auditioned for the part of Worzel Gummidge came through the traffic lights on the opposite carriageway, turned right, the wrong way around the one way system towards the oncoming traffic (me). I was too astounded to even sound my horn as she narrowly missed me.

So I would add an inability to read road signs (no right turn and no entry obviously didn't apply to her).

I'm quite an aggressive driver, or shall I say confident, I DO TAILGATE, but only when you're travelling, for no REASON at 25/26/27 mph in a 30mph zone. If you do 30mph, I WILL NOT tailgate you, I will drop back and just cruise. This is why people get annoyed.

I would say tailgaiting anyone is bullying rather than confident driving.

Lets hope that someone, someday who you are tailgaiting, doesn't slam on their brakes.........you will be liable.

Also don't forget that 25-27mph is well within the range of variances for speedos, which is 10%+6.25mph for a variance of 8-9mph at 30.

Yes it's annoying as hell, but if they seem to be doing 27 then chances are their speedo is reading 30 and the person behind them tailgating is an ****hole trying to make them break the law by speeding up.

Micras do seem to be particularly prone to overly optimistic speedos though.

Indeed. Most of the ones in our locality seem to over read by 110% :(
  • We have been flooded with a blight of Nissan Piccolo's in this area. Of course all left hand drive , three speed automatic and often in pea green. Never marketed in the UK but now all coming here in the twilight of their years, don't know if the Japs have decided this is the best way to solve their "end of life "disposal problem. Keeps traffic speeds locally below the limit.

The first time I went to Worthing after moving to Brighton I saw a micra going the wrong way at a roundabout.

I love how everyone has there own particular car to avoid, I am cautious of all small Peugeot's these days, I especially like to look out for them at the supermarket car park driving around endlessly looking for a space near the door when half the car park is empty.

What speed is silly speed for a micra? I did 100 once on my car - it shouldn't really go above 80 because it's quite old.

Well it only had 100mph on the speedo ;)

I was once given a Micra as a courtesy car for a couple of days.
I have to say that it is the worst car I have ever driven, and I always take that into account if I do get stuck behind one.

I'm surprised that they are left hand drive if they have come from Japan.
