  • Must be a regional thing, it seems to be silver Honda Jazz's round here.
I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world

All this hate for micras !

    I had a 1990 k10 as my first car..... Cool right ?

It was a red gsx 3dr, it was a fantastic car, much better than my brothers nova at the time, it was over 1200cc, had 5 gears, and an auto choke, colour coded bumpers too.

It went like the clappers for what it was...

I killed it doing rather silly speeds down reigate hill on the m25 one day, blew the head gasket.

Needless to say I repaired it and sold it on, and bought a mk3 1.4 astra... That was a hateful car.

Very fond memories of that car back in the day.

What speed is silly speed for a micra? I did 100 once on my car - it shouldn't really go above 80 because it's quite old.

    don't hate
  • All I can say is my daughter (17) looked close to tears when I suggested that a 1997 micra would be the perfect 1st car.

Why? Ideal first car for a 17 years old, especially the K11 (pre Renault) which was better than its successors, imho.
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.

It was always particularly pleasing to step out of a micra and see the slow dawning of realisation spread across their face as they see the radio, then the handcuffs, then the badge, as you invite them for a quick 'word' on the roadside about their road manners.

Are you a male stripper? :D
  • Love this thread. I drive a Nissan Micra, white, 1 litre, automatic and I call it my grannymobile. I also realised I am a middle aged woman driving one (well I know I'm a woman but I forget I'm not 18 any more :D).

They are actually a great little car, good visibility and easy manoeuvrability, which I guess is why older women buy them, but I have no idea why they drive them so slowly (I quite happily drive along at 70 on the motorway without any trouble).

I'm so tempted to pimp mine, flames down the side, tinted windows, banging stereo, that should be awesome :rotfl::rotfl:

I'm guessing from your username that you can get away with an excitement-free motor car because you have other ways of getting your thrills.

A Ford Mondeo, three bikes in the garage and a birthday in November says I know how you feel :)

While I was driving I suddenly realised that your on about the old style one - not the K12 that my wife has so ignore my comments above.

I realised this because I was stuck behind a K11 lol

My neighbour had a red Nissan Micra and when it needed a replacement windscreen the fitter found no body panel to attach the bottom edge to - it had corroded away. Maybe that's why they're driven slowly .. to miimise air pressure on the windscreen.
