    What a nice find :)
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!
  • Just catching up KC and sending love and hugs...difficult times...

But what a fantastic find in the form of the letters.

    Take care of yourself.

Great news about the letters. Not so good about the flimsy credit card security!

Just popping my head around the door to send good wishes, sadly thee seem to be several people on these threads going through the same thing at present, made so much harder when living a long distance away, I remember the arrangements and the travelling being so difficult and frustrating.

    Take care.

Hello maddie, thanks for coming by :)

And oh my, I haven't been on for a few days: RT, beanie, Watty, MCI and earthgirl too - thank you, lovely to see the posts.

It's awful being so far away, it's true. There's a constant procession of people through the house - carers, nurses, GP, and even a social worker today - supporting my brother and sister in dealing with this mob, all of whom are genuinely helpful and well intentioned, is the best thing I can do.

I think the problems, and there are many, come because the system's been tinkered with for years - we have 3 types of nurse visiting, I think, as well as the doctor _pale_ so while I'd theoretically support rationalisation of the management structure, I'm sure that would be taken as an excuse to cut services, and that's not something people on the frontline can cope with.

Anyway, I've been doing what I can behind the scenes - online research for national policies that affect us, finding a local-to-them NHS dentist, buying a needed computer mouse, setting my old laptop up, with a very old flash drive to back up what's written. The drive is only a gigabyte, but since it's for writing documents, that'll be enough.

Also been buying for me - I nearly got sucked into a consumerist angle over Black Friday, but I pulled back in time, and bought what I needed - a little incinerator! It will take the trunks and branches of the laurel (as well as everything else :D) and as the laurel foliage is the toxic stuff, it will be fine.

My go-bag is ready packed, I can be out of here in half an hour.
