Actually less than two months
The powers that be have sent me that leaflet "Your pension: its time to choose" I think it must be one of the firms that hold a pension of mine. Ug.
Right, I'm going to stop faffing at the edges. I'm going to put the washing machine on, and then start writing blog posts. Actually, I'm going to finalise drafts, because I've got a lot of first drafts alreadySave2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Actually interesting (not Chinese curse!) A large swathe of the UK have decided what they want to do next (and another fairly large swathe have decided what they don't want to happen next)
I suspect that the next couple of years will be fascinating social and political history.0 -
Oh wow! Yes! So its a British saying that we've projected onto the Chinese? Though something called grammarphobia says it might be American, back to 1939.
Okay, I agree - definitely interesting!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Date wise Karmcat it is less than two months.
So week wise it seems more.

I'm not saying it's a British phrase, just saying that I meant interesting as in 'fascinating', as opposed to 'awkward/challenging'0

I know you weren't, Ed, don't worry :kisses3: I'm burbling, I'm trying not to eat before 11am, and I'm also trying not to eat peanut butter or wheat pasta, as I have quite low level tolerances to them, and I'm really **really** hungry - the burble is to distract myself2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Good morning lovely peeps
Two hours work today ... I've just scared myself by looking at what I've got next week  it's two thirds of what I actually used to make every week - that thing of people piling in for sessions as I reach retirement seems to be true
Okay, anyway, this week is fine, so I mustn't borrow trouble ... so today:
- check the blog post I published yesterday.
- write another one.
- bear in mind there's a supermarket delivery coming later in the afternoon - don't go for a walk!
- pruning and cleaning: hmmm. I need an absolutely clear path for the odd job man I'm going to hire for the bottom of the garden. I also need the bathroom clear enough for another human being to useCan't phone him until I've accomplished those two things. So in spite of the weeds submerging my blackcurrant bush (sob) they take priority.
ETA - oh, but antkiller is a priority too :eek:Save

That's just business as usual. A "consensus" is always manufactured once groups grow beyond a certain size. To pick a contentious example: lager.
Large numbers of people will drink nothing else, whereas large numbers of other people think it's bilge water direct from the Devil's bladder...edinburgher wrote: »I suspect that the next couple of years will be fascinating social and political history.
As history it'll be very boring as historians will start from the end result, then work backwards rationalising all the way and trying to make it seem like it was all cut in stone all along.
I'm sure you'll have seen this process before with financial news reporting.
"Today the FTSE went up"- because of good job statistics which mean people have more money
- because of bad job statistics which means the BoE are more likely to cut interest rates
- because someone broke wind and emitted the first two bars of the 1812 Overture which is a good omen for something or other
..but never "And God knows why..."
However, if you like your scares quick and fast, it will be something to live through, and to laugh at the history books later..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Think of it as a "lump sum" for your retirement."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)
