Ha, all Ed's fault :rotfl: I'd forgotten about his holibob :rotfl:
I slept *amazingly* well last night, utter bliss - two extra hours, plus another hour actually sleeping and not thinking "is it late enough to get up yet". Bliss.
I seem to have fixed my router problem - ahem, by turning it off and turning it on again :j so if this cold weather continues, I can evacuate the office and go back to my warm kitchenbut I'm airing the musty stuff I want to keep on the kitchen table, so maybe not. Or I could swap everything around ... decisions!
No paid work today :j the cat blog is up, I'm a happy camper on that score, and nothing urgent is hammering at the door. So today will be a mix of:
- scanning-to-declutter
- maybe putting some stuff on Amazon
- starting to accumulate stuff I need for the wedding trip.
- gardening - huge frost this morning, but the cats have already reclaimed the decking as a sunbathing location, so its all good
From tomorrow - back to my writing routine, I refuse to be deprived of it any longer:cool:

Glad you've managed to send the e-mail to your ex-partner - another thing ticked off the list to make you feel better.
MCIMortgage Free x 1 03.11.2012 - House rented out Feb 2016
Mortgage No 2: £82, 595.61 (31.08.2019)
OP's to Date £8500
Renovation Fund:£511.39;
Nectar Points Balance: approx £30 (31.08.2019)0 -
Thanks MCI
I was shattered by yesterday afternoon - it's all catching up with me, I suppose, one reason I want to do the ex-partner issues by email, as that's bad enough. Still, I had a very pleasant long break in the afternoon, took a cup of tea out and sat on the patio. A ginger cat was sunning himself at the other end of the garden, and in the middle was a sparrow yelling about how he owned the hazel tree :rotfl: he was very noisy
I did saw a few branches later on to continue to free up the decking, but nothing spectacular.
- scanning to declutter (mostly for future genealogists!) is ongoing as I'm typing this.
- binmen have collected the bin, and there was a **lot** in there, from my travails over the last few weeks, I'm so happy its left the property :j
- 1.5 hours client work today.
- I checked my bank account - the HMRC refund has arrived, and I'll check next week to see they've allocated my payment somewhere.
- and ... ta-da ... Amazon Kindle have paid me for my kindle book :rotfl: all three countries where it sold :rotfl: the grand sum of £128.77 :j:j:j they all paid in sterling, so no deductions that I can see.
Thats a beginning - I can update it, I can promote it, I can help sales by writing other stuff too. And there shouldn't be any tax to pay, because I'm not earning enough this year, what with retiring and all2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Well done on your Amazon earnings - it must be very satisfying to earn money from your writing
I have to say one of the pluses of retirement is the no-tax situation. I shouldn't have to pay tax again until 2026!Early retired - 18th December 2014
If your dreams don't scare you, they're not big enough0 -
Thanks Goldie
yes, I'm definitely a happy camper about that
And here we are, Friday afternoon has mostly gone, and week 18 of the retirement countdown is done and dusted. I'm getting very excited :j:j:j and I've just found a good writer's blog from a freebie kindle book - I often go to the author's website now.
I have to bear in mind the amount I've earned is ridiculously tiny - between the research and the writing, I doubt its £1 per hour, but I'm sure I can improve on that!
Catching up on here, tidying, possibly a bit of sweeping - its a bank holiday tho **yells loudly** hurray2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Ooh KC, that's brilliant earnings from your book :j :j and as ZTD says, it's only going to go up! :j :j Excellent work, and week 18! Wow! Very impressed0

Thanks folks! Yep, I'm still pleased. I'm also "auditing" the dawn bird chorus, which I'm *not* so pleased at
but at least it isn't the sparrow yelling about the hazel tree.
Same old same old for today - scanning and gardening. I definitely want to get outside while its sunny. Tomorrow is a trip to my sister's.
Consumed since last posting by family emergency phone calls - dear me, it does take time. Weddings are a bit overshadowed now, and there's lots of behind the scenes backing and filling to be done. Gardening becomes even more important.2023: the year I get to buy a car0
