Just the odd one every now and then - I'd lose the will to live if I did them every time!

    I wish I'd kept a diary.

In my teens I'd start, but then drop it after a week or so, and what I did write has long since been lost.

But it'd be really interesting to go back and read things from 30 or 40 years ago.

It's a shame that all the day to day thoughts, feelings and happenings have been lost. I remember the big stuff, but it's all little things that really bring back the memories. Although, I'm sure some of the things that I thought were important back them would be a bit cringeworthy now!

I'm at 3750 now on You Gov. I last cashed out in July, and was doing well up until Christmas. Then in the new year it went quiet, but while I was on holiday I got lots of invites, which I didn't take up. Now I'm back, it's quiet again. I'm not even getting the Oracle ones. I log in each day and answer the multi choice views on current events, so I'm hoping they realise I'm back!

Actually, you're right, Goldie, aren't you. Even on these trips, its the day to day stuff thats interesting - the first thing I noticed about Greece is that there were lots and lots of people in the fields, and they were cutting their crops with scythes - all along the journey from Yugoslavia down to Athens, no farm machinery. Its my trips that have the diaries, mostly because I was on train journeys from place to place, and we'd sit in bars at night writing our postcards and diaries. No texts those days either :):):)

Hope you get some more from yougov - its an easy enough way of making a bit of spare dosh, isn't it.

  • I was just on a reading thread I subscribe to and someone recommended something that sounds right up your street, KC;).

You've probably already heard of the author and read some of his books but I'll post the link anyway. The first few lines of the post aren't relevant but I can't remove them.

How interesting! Thanks CBC - I'll have a butchers at that :) Can't buy a novel though

Nothing done today! Ten minutes on the decking doesn't really count. Situation around the Irish wedding has become distinctly mad. Everyone associated with it is completely insane, except for me and my sister :p

I should have thought of that myself :D

I don't think anything else will come up this week, if only because the hours my sister works are too long for her to engage with it all properly, and I'm on the sidelines in this particular fiasco.

Right, it's my busiest day today, 3 hours all face to face, the carpets need cleaning, and I feel like something the cat dragged in. Plus I need to transfer money about to deal with the whole tax thing.

    Laterz....

Last week I did get a survey from YouGov, and they asked if I would be available to do a daily survey from 25th April to 2nd May for 25 points a day, and 100 points at the end when all surveys were done. I obviously said 'hell, yeah', but I've logged in today and there's nothing:( Come on YouGov, I'm a willing participant and raring to go!:rotfl:

Hope you're getting through your day ok

    Hiya!

I got asked about something like that - to be honest, knowing the external issues I'm juggling, I didn't respond. Nothing else has come through either. I hope they wake up for you soon! Thats a fine kettle of fish!

Another potential fine kettle of fish - I inputted my bank details to Amazon/Kindle last week or so, yes? Three emails today - Amazon UK, Germany and USA :):):) I'm not sure I'm actually going to get any money from Germany or the US - very small numbers sold there (being a UK-based book an' all!) and I think I may end up owing the bank, I'm afraid. We'll see. Its an experiment, after all.

Did all the client work needed, and to be honest I feel miles better :j that sometimes happens in this line of work.

I got the tax money into the right account to pay HMRC as well. And I'm definitely going to work at doing the next tax year before I retire - the mistake I made this time (inputting my details into the bit that says "non-resident in the UK only" :o ) was asking for trouble, and its only because its so blatantly untrue that they didn't fine me, I think. The earlier I do it, the more help is available.

And I did about 15 minutes of hunting through the "old boyfriend" letters - I appear to have kept every single one :o:p:o:p:o:p it will certainly add colour to the European book :D

Ta-da, I finally started to upload the cat blog, at long last, and my wifi has collapsed, so I didn't get a chance. I'm just using it Wi now :D

  • All my moaning about lack of YouGov surveys and one popped into my inbox today:j. I didn't even have to do an Oracle one to gee them up;)

Maybe the YouGov weekly survey that didn't materialise, Goldiegirl, is a bit like Pinecone who, on completion of some surveys, say the manufacturer of the product would like to send some to try. I always agree to that as I love testing things but over a few years I've only been selected for about 3 things. The last one was really top-class toilet roll and they sent 4 rolls even though the trial was only for a week:rotfl:
