    Ooh, useable space! I'm sure I had some of that once... :rotfl: :rotfl:

    I didn't really keep a diary in my 20s but occasionally come across a notebook that I've ranted in, or tried to work things out in. I had some interesting diaries from my teenage years - mostly about how much I couldn't stand my sister (we"re the best of pals now but it took a LONG time), and how much better my life would be when I moved away from all these idiots at school who were too stupid to understand me (I was right about that, at least :rotfl: :rotfl: ) :D Love reading back, even old spending diaries are really interesting :o:D

    I think it's just that I like everyday details - probably why I like reading actual books that are diaries too. I'm just nosy I think :o :rotfl: :o

    I like reading my old diaries too. I found one the other day about my hopes and dreams when I was first pregnant - it was lovely. Reminded me of when I had a spare minute to myself!

    And in 20 years time, all of today's teenagers will be wishing they could declutter their stuff from Faceache...

    Those diaries sound like the basis for a book, KC:j. Yet another little task to add to your 'to do' list for your retirement, you said you'd like to spend more time writing:).

    To prove to you that I really did read back through the posts;) (although I think this one was very recent) I'm amazed how quickly you've amassed 2000 points on YouGov:T. I remember you and I being pretty much neck and neck leading up to our last £50 payout, I think I was about 3 weeks ahead of you. And here you are on 2000 points when I'm still only on 1300-ish:(. You must be in a more desirable demographic group than me as I answer all I'm offered from YouGov. I didn't miss many when I was away, there were only 2 invitations in my inbox when I got back.

    Hello all :wave::wave::wave:
    Ooh, useable space! I'm sure I had some of that once... :rotfl: :rotfl:
    Exactly :rotfl: I tell you what, I've got more now than I've had for ages, but its all a bit cluttered with things that are being de-moulded :D

    We weren't part of each others' lives either, Cheery, my sister and I, the same. The diaries I'm reading, though, they're from trips - Interrailing then au pairing when I was 21, another Interrail trip at 25, a two month journey around Greece and Turkey, 3 weeks in Zimbabwe, all that sort of thing. My daily diaries (which I keep, cos of work) are mostly appointments and to-do lists :p
    Was au pairing vile?
    Oh god yes! They were so unfriendly, they didn't talk much and when they did it was mostly about how nice their summer au pair had been. I'd been living in a mixed house at college for 2 years, I wasn't used to being with a toddler all day out in the countryside. And I worked 6 days a week, 12 hours a day, except when I negotiated to go to French classes at the local town hall, but they were literacy classes for Algerian immigrants who mostly spoke Arabic. I used to flee to Marseille every Sunday, and try to stay out as late as I could.

    Awww! From the start of the Interrail trip to the end of the au pairing, I *do* think there's enough for a book, actually :o it was all very different in those days. That's part of it - it was so long ago!

    Nothing to prove to me, CBC :kisses3: I suspect the invites tail off with age, yes, and I think you're a bit older than me :( though I tell you one trick I've learned - if you suspect they're tailing off, do an Oracle survey, for prize draw entries not points - that perks them up no end :)

    Thanks for that tip, KC:T.

    I gave up on the Oracle ones. I found them so mind-blowingly boring and didn't win anything in all the years I did them:(. Time to start doing them again I think;)
