That's great, CBC! Maybe they heard you
Beautiful sunny morning here - I like admiring the garden first thing, and I've realised how wasteful the cherry laurel are - even at this time of year, they have the sun from *my* side of the fence from 8am or so till 2pm ... and then the sun goes round the other side of them. If I can thin them down, and plant something more lovely there, even a Rosa Rugosa, that would be brilliant. Actually, blueberries would like that soil. Investigations in due course.
I've also realised I can hi-res scan postcards (from my travels) and let them go - I only bought them as reminders of beautiful things and beautiful views, and I use my laptop for that nowadays, for everything :j
So, today:
- 1.5 hours client work plus associated cleaningas I had a cancellation today.
- post one of my newly-reclaimed postcards to my ex-friend in the hospice, the maze at Chartres Cathedral, she'll love it.
- finish posting the cat blog, my router interrupted me
- email reference info to HMRC about the payment I sent yesterday, I'm not quite certain it will be applied correctly.
- start drafting return email to partner - I'm going to start calling him my ex-partner on here
- bit of scanning, then backing up.
- the garden! Play in the garden!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Not a bad result on my list: most has been done except:
- haven't sent the draft yet, I just made a couple of alterations so I need to sit on that for a while and let it gel.
- I can't seem to cope with the blogging, I was utterly exhausted after I finished that work.
- couldn't go into the garden to work - it was snowing  and it was practically a blizzard  astonishing. I see what everyone's been talking about now

Thanks earthgirl - I'm not trying for the garden today, as the forecast isn't wonderful and I have some intense work, so today is just pootling about with paper, the sort of thing I've been doing lots of recently
I'm determined to get the paper mountain down to bring as much freshness into the house as possible
Ex-partner thing, I hope to send it later today. If he still refuses to consider emailing (i.e. other than writing "I'm not going to email") he can wait until after the wedding at the end of May, and maybe not even then, I've had enough. Without the business to anchor us together, I'd have drifted away, he has no idea of how hard I've worked to maintain the relationship, and I'm fed up of it. I just need to ensure that professionalism returns to the relationship until we cease being an active therapeutic presence together. A new life beckons.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Finances are complicated!
- the payment I made to HMRC is showing on my account as an overpayment. Luckily, I posted details of it to the relevant department, a Compliance thingummy, so it should soon find its way to the right bit.
- the refund is also showing as being about to arrive :rotfl:subtracting one from the other gives them more or less what they're supposed to have. I'm definitely using their Advanced Help service this year, this is bleeping ridiculous.
- nothing yet from any of the Amazon Kindle companies, apart from the money from selling the music book recently.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

I'm amazed they have an advanced helpline!:D
They are extremely frustrating to deal with! They took five years to sort out that they owed me money & by the time everything was settled I suddenly had an extra 1/2 month's wages arrive - even ended up asking payroll if they'd made a mistake! - The following year they asked for 1/3 of it back!!! SIGH - and this past year 1/6 for some strange reason! - how much to you want to bet that this year it will be 1/12???4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)...and now I have a mortgage! (23 AUG 2021)New projection - 14 YEARS 10 MONTHS LEFT OF 20 YEARS (reduced by 15 mths)Psst...I may have started a diary!0 -
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:they're insane, aren't they! The letter requesting the payment to them came with 3 pages of changes for the last 3 years - if you change 1 figure, that seems to happen now. Some of the changes are as small as £1, its very odd, and seems to be completely unrelated to the actual money/mistake involved. I think it must be something about the computer programme wanting to keep certain ratios the same. Tho heaven only knows *what* ratios
Haven't done anything much after finishing the client work I had, going to try and do a bit now (and not saying what in case I jinx it yet again!).
ETA - finally sent the email to the ex-partner. I've realised I'm not unhappy with the email itself - I've been drafting and re-drafting to be as reasonable as possible while not betraying myself. I'm just unhappy with the situation. So it's gone.

The weather was weird yesterday, we had snow too. Poor Mr Ed is on holiday this week in Kent - he's obviously bought his Scottish weather with him.

If your dreams don't scare you, they're not big enough0 -
Ah ha. So snow in Kent is down to Ed.
Will hopefully be gone soon thenMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0
