    In a word, yes :)

    No, no, no:eek::eek::eek::eek:.

Sorry, didn't mean to be critical:o, each to his own of course.

I think I mentioned ages ago how much interest I'm taking in the whole election process. I'll be 'lost' for TV 'entertainment' when it's all over:o. I know, I need to 'get a life':rotfl:.

Had a lovely walk down a country lane to my local tiny polling station, no sound but birdsong all the way. Was there dead on the dot of 7 just as they opened and was their first 'customer' of the day:j . That's how much it all matters to me.

In for a long day and night now:(. Have 'splashed out' on a few snacks to keep me going through the night as I watch every possible minute of the TV coverage. I've a bottle of wine too (left over from Christmas) but whether I'll be in a mood to enjoy it as events unfold remains to be seen. Needless to say,OH will take himself off to bed about 11 and take absolutely no interest in the proceedings (except to grumble if the result isn't to his liking).

Please don't drum me off the thread, KC!;)

If you were cynically minded you might think the ballot paper was spoiled when they printed the candidate's names on it...........:D
    Cynical, us? Que? :rotfl: :j

Thats what we've fought for, absolutely.

I know *I* most certainly do!

That sounds lovely, CBC. And it matters to me too, believe me.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Far be it from me, CBC - if you've not become disillusioned with party politics, then by all means, enjoy watching - I used to, for sure. I've canvassed, protested, written stuff, marched, been prosecuted ... those bigger issues don't really belong on a diary (and I can't afford to let myself get distracted by writing the book thats in my head, not with a 30% drop in annual income I can't!) but I'm happy that people with passion and good conscience are still engaged in the political process, people like you.

Loving that you're still on the thread

I'm actually considering staying up all night for the first time  I've been plenty involved in political issues in the past (although never actual political parties) and I always struggle with campaigning as I'm never absolutely convinced I'm *right* enough to go out and convince anyone else :o Especially given just how many issues there are to think about!

However, I've always voted, sometimes tactically and sometimes for who I actually wanted) and will be doing so today - especially as I'm in Nick Clegg's constituency so there's a chance that who I vote for might actually matter

What a rich life you've led, Karmacat:j. What wonderful books you could write (given the time, finances and all the other things that are needed before our creative spirit can be fully released). I'd definitely buy them:T

The only thing I haven't done from your list is to be prosecuted(yet:rotfl:) but would willingly risk it when I feel passionately enough about issus that might result in it. Animal cruelty and abuse are top of the list. I've made a lot of fuss on that particular issue (and in a rural area there's been plenty of scope:eek:) but so far no arrests (of me anyway).

Might try to take a short nap during the day so I'm fully alert tonight. Rubbish at napping, though:(. Just my luck to fall into a deep sleep about 4 a.m. just when results are pouring in (the best bit:j)

CheeryDaff Good for you:T. Should be fun in some constituencies, not necessarily for the candidates:rotfl:. My own constituency is an exceptionally safe seat, has been in the same hands, with different incumbents, pretty much forever so I suppose my vote is immaterial to the result. Doesn't make any difference to how keen I am to vote though.

there have been mutterings around our way that you could put a blue piece of paper up as a candidate and it would win :(

Thanks CBC! The prosecution came about as the result of taking part in a civil disobedience campaign around taxation ... I just had a look online, and it turns out they're still going http://www.conscienceonline.org.uk/ under a different name. I was on the committee ... the typewriter we used was the one that was used to type out the constitution of the African National Congress, way back in the day.

    Anyway ....

following up Ed's recommendations on the m.b.ing, I've contacted totespxxt, as I already have an account with them, and searched for bxtfrxxxd, don't think I ever joined them. At least I can get all this rejoining lark out of the way so that when the m.b. is back on, I can get going.

Like I said before.......a rich life, though maybe not always financially rich.

    :o:o:o Thank you!

Did the banking and broccoli-shopping at lunchtime, and since then I've been practically submerged in elance, verifying documents, phone numbers, getting my own microphone and video checked out, joining skype and booking a call for more verification, then writing a *proper* profile, which I hadn't before, not really. Decided to abandon the copywriting idea, thats not really me, and its not what my contact originally talked of anyway, that was more proofreading, editing, and smoothing English.

I was really able to focus, with knowing the shortfall I have, and the plan to make it up to a better number ;)

Off for a little walk now to make the most of the sunshine - got to get that sort of healthy routine going so I can do this regularly.

A healthy routine sounds like a good plan KC!:T:T:T

OH & I have realized how out of shape we are, as the cleaning/packing/moving seems to be wearing us right out! We are striving for a healthier life over the next year - including moving more and sitting still less!:D:o
