If someone is travelling at speed and sees a cigerette being thrown from a window, you can not retrieve the cigerette, and it is very easy to mistake it from coming from the car infront/behind. I'm sure the person who issued the fine thought it was from the correct car, and as I said - mistakes do happen - that is what an appeals procedure is for.

In which case a fine should not have been issed at all!! If its a very easy mistake to make then there is a HUGE flaw in the process!!

Jeeze, even the old bill need more evidence than that to prosecute what makes the council (and I still think they are) jobsworths any better?

I would possiblt write to your local newspaper as well might get a small story out of it which the paper 'may' pay for?

    Definatly contest the fine though.

In my experience, local papers don't pay for stories and many nationals take storys from agency feeds.

The way it will help is if the council refuse to drop the fine - the paper will take up the 'crusade' against the little man.

hopefully it will get sorted without that though.

Can I just add that if I do go to the papers it will be to hightlight the atrocity of what the council are doing and in no way would I wish to receive any monies for this!
