I know that when we are recruiting new graduates, one question that is asked was what brought them to this career choice. The answer tends to start at gcse or equivalent stage. I know paths can and do change but I hate to see options being restricted so early on.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 11st 12lb determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. Thanks INOD, that message will keep me focussed. The headmaster actually sent out a text message and posted a letter on the school website, last night, which was very conciliatory, for all parents concerned.
It looks like this is no longer the open and shut case that was presented to us all. All options are being looked at again. We have dialogue!!"I wondered why the Frisbee was getting bigger, and then it hit me". £9/£250

Hi Sassy, it went really well. The Headmaster was extremely helpful, and we have come up with a tailor made solution for DS which we are really happy with.
I felt for the HM though, there is so much pressure on schools and teachers these days to keep everyone happy while balancing ever decreasing budgets, and changing curriculums. I did feel that he had the pupils interests at heart though, and did what he could for us.
On a less positive note, I have been so busy with work and school and another issue that I have lost the plot this month with spending, eating, housework and oh ....... just about everything else.
On a more positive note, it is only the 4th April, so surely if I pull my socks up now, which I am going to, I will not have done too much damage.

            Good morning,
Well a very surprising thing happened this morning, I hopped on the scales and found out that I had lost 3 lb!
I have got my spending diary up to date and checked my account and I am bang on budget. I fed the family from Burger King, the local kebab house and the fish and chips parlour on three nights of this week and they had scrambled eggs on toast on another, which is almost unheard of, for me, but I literally had no time.
Strangely enough, apart from these three extravagances I have spent almost nothing else, probably again because I had no time to!!
So, it would appear that I have been on a weird form of the Atkins Diet this week, but I am not complaining, 3 lb is 3 lb. To complete this week of eating all the things I shouldn't, we are going out for a Chinese Meal, tonight, with some other families. DH has budgeted for this so it will come out of his treat pot and not mine !!
Come Sunday though, I will move over to the healthy eating plan that I should be on, and knowing my luck, that will send my weight back up again. Do you ever feel that you live in a topsy turvy world where things never seem to work the way they are supposed to.
 Have a great weekend.
 Three things to do:-
 1. Get the house straight and the washing up to date.
 2. Pamper myself, manicure and pedicure and eyebrows
 3. Phone Halifax switching team
I am grateful that we had a good meeting with the HM, this week, and that DS has a clear plan of action for the next couple of years.
“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?”

We had such a lovely evening yesterday, and I ate very sensibly and didn't feel cheated!
Chicken skewers with a little satay sauce, followed by scallops/cashew nuts and mixed vegetables and a little pot of boiled rice, washed down with a couple of small glasses of red wine ... bliss and I haven't woken up, this morning, with a leaden mass sitting at the bottom of my stomach.
 Thought for the day:-
"All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent".
 —Thomas Jefferson.
Dilemma number ..... I've lost count for the week, but I seem to be tackling a lot of unresolved issues in this diary, and even where things have not really changed, I feel comfortable that I have said my piece. Thanks guys !!
Another one raised it's head yesterday. I am affiliated with an organisation, where one man has pretty autocratically controlled it for over 20 years. All attempts to limit his power, which is in direct violation of the constitution, have failed. New people join, but pretty quickly their spirits get crushed and they move on, just leaving the old stalwarts, who have kind of found a way of just living with what is affectively an abuse of power, but can actually verge on emotional abuse. The perpetrator, actually has a very kind heart, but has to be in complete control of everything.
I am connecting the dots, and it is a very similar situation to my supervisor at work and the woman in the family run business, who made everybody's working life miserable. These people never seem to be overthrown through direct confrontation and seem to have a way of sniffing out opposition and crushing it through a variety of manipulative tactics. There seems to be only three really viable options, submission/flight or fight, but all three don't work.
People of good conscience can speak up time and time again, but from my perspective, they usually just end up as battle casualties. They can leave and the perpetrator is just getting away with it again. They can put up and shut up, but I don't think that is good for a person's mental health.
Is there another way of dealing with these situations? I don't think these are bad people, but their way of viewing the world and interpreting things, seems to be allowed to take precedence over everyone elses, and it doesn't seem just or fair xx."I wondered why the Frisbee was getting bigger, and then it hit me". £9/£250

If it's a violation to the constitution then really he should be reported to the governing body.(and there should be one) Sounds exactly like our community council which has had the same chair, vice chair and treasurer forever! Like you group new folk come but get dispirited and leave. Only the nodding heads remain for any length of time. Like you this lead gentleman has a good heart essentially but often doesn't see the bigger picture or benefit or otherwise to the whole community, only the effect on his little corner. So frustrating. I believe in our case reporting to the local council may be the next, only viable step left to take over a particular issue.Busymumofthreeplusdog......

Thanks so much, you have summed the situation up perfectly.
Raising it further up the line has been tried in the past, and failed because of vested interests. There is a new, young chap that has moved into the organisation, at a higher level. He is beginning to make sweeping changes, that are necessary for survival.
I think I will quietly work with a number of others to see if we can come up with a cunning plan of our own, involving this new chap. It will have to be very secret squirrel .... In truth it is already beginning, but you have confirmed in my mind that it is the right thing to do xxx."I wondered why the Frisbee was getting bigger, and then it hit me". £9/£250

            Monday, here we go again!
Busy day today, but I want to ensure that I accomplish a few things that will keep me focussed on my goals.
 So today's three key things
 - Attend a Body Pump class and a Body Balance class this evening.
 - Organise coupons/vouchers that are all over the place, and utilise.
 - Change beds and ensure washing is up to date
 Menu
 - Weetabix minis and almonds
 - Salmon sandwich and melon
 - Sausage casserole (one sausage) loads of vegetables.
 Snacks, banana/chocolate
My £6.00 a day challenge is up to £80.00 now. The H*lifax switching of accounts never happened on time, and although it cost me no more than hassle, they paid me £15.00 as an apology and assured me that the £100.00 would be into my account within 7 days.
I took something back to Argos that was part of a Mystery Shop, and that added another £7.99 to the pot.
I am sticking another couple of very current DVD's on ebay, now, on a "Buy It Now" basis so I am confident that they will sell quickly and put another £14.00 in the pot.
Have a great week x."I wondered why the Frisbee was getting bigger, and then it hit me". £9/£250
