OK, so I have been paid today, and I think that I will conclude this month, as my weeks and months run from Friday to Friday.

I haven't been as good this week as the other three weeks of the month, but as DH said it is still three steps forward, one back this month, which is a lot better than last months, four steps forward and four steps back.

So building on January and February's steps:-

    1. I am Debt Free
    2. I have not got a N*xt account
    3. My mother is self funding
    4. I have not used my O/D and it will be closed today.

    And this month's key successes:-

    1. I have an empty laundry cupboard
    2. I have identified clothing gaps and devised a plan to fill them
    3. I now have £500.00 in an emergency fund.

I have £250.00 still in my account from this month and I am 'paying myself' first out of my April salary, so I declare that I have achieved goal two on my master plan. "£500.00 in an emergency fund by 1st May 2014" It will be transferred into a Post Office Savings Account shortly.

Scary thought ..... I have cleared £668.67 off O/D and N*xt account in this first quarter, given mum £500.00 and saved £500.00 into an emergency fund. £1,668.67 in 3 months which would equate to £6,674.68, in a year. I don't want to stop now and go back to my old, frittering money away days, and I am enjoying myself, so I need to move on to stage 2 of the master plan, which hasn't been written yet ............. I never expected to get this far. Thanks for all your support x.

Actually, I have looked at my first post, and the goals are sitting waiting for the plans ....

    3. Setting up regular savings accounts for wants and needs.
    4. Weigh 146 pounds by 1st July 2014
"I wondered why the Frisbee was getting bigger, and then it hit me". £9/£250
    Project Peacock - 2/33 - 1lb/7lb target.
    £6.00 a day challenge £118.77/£170
    Mtge debt includes car purchase - £46,381/ now £44,336 - Paid 4.4%
    Emergency Savings 550.00/£1000

Wow! Well done on achieving so much in the first part of this year. Totally agree that you've done 3 steps forward/1 back and you should feel so chuffed with yourself.

When you work out how much you spend needlessly over a year it's amazing how much it can go up to so well done on achieving your goals & reaching your targets so soon.

I'm still waiting to see the photo of your laundry cupboard though!!

    Have a great day :) x

Thanks Sassy, you never forget!! I wish I could show you my laundry cupboard, I am so proud of it! I have taken four pictures of it this morning, and that is how it is going to be at the end of every month .... completely empty, with no cheating allowed. I am going to print off one of the pictures and use it as the starting point of my "vision board".

Unfortunately, I do not seem to be able to get my smilies to work and I am unable to upload any images.

    Any suggestions?

Smilies not working for me either Rainbow. Must be a problem on the site.

  • That's a fab idea, you should also put one on the inside of the cupboard door.

The only way I know to get smilies to work is by going into "go advanced" so if they're not working in there I've no idea - sorry hon :)

Thanks everyone, and welcome Emzilla, it was lovely to read your post, and your avatar is so cute, is it your cat?

My default position would be exactly the same as yours INOD. I think that I secretly fear that by leaving negative feedback or comments I run the risk of an ebay stalker retaliating.

I decided to face my fear and leave neutral feedback with a comment. I didn't realise that neutral didn't affect the rating. I put, "lovely coat, great value, speedy delivery, but mud and a lot of hairs on it". Honesty is the best policy ....... or is it ?????? Time will tell xx.

Thank you :A - not my cat unfortunately, but I would love a cutie like that. I'm not allowed pets in my flat :(

I think you did the right thing regarding the feedback. There shouldn't be any comeback from that.

    Emz xx

    Thanks everyone.

I sometimes think there is somebody up there having a laugh. There I am patting myself on the back for having an empty washing cupboard and I have just had a text from the mum with 5 kids, no money (and an abusive husband who has just been released from jail and is back with her) which says...

" Hi .... I hope u and yours are well. Sorry to bother u about this but I have had no washing machine and no bath for 2 weeks. I hate to ask but is there any possibility that u may be able to help us with a few loads please."

What would you do here? I could always pretend I never got the text ...... or should I wash five kids, two adults and 2 weeks worth of washing for seven people, or try and just do a few loads? This is turning into the moral maze!

    C'est la vie.

    Hmm, tricky one.

Part of my thinks, yeah offer to do a few loads - good karma and all that. But the other part of me thinks, does she not have any family she can ask? How well do you know this woman? Would she then take liberties and keep on asking again and again?

    Emz xx
  • Ooh that is a tricky one.

As Emz said, how well do you know this woman? Is she the lady you took the daffs to? I'd want to help out a little but I'd be very wary of being taken for a ride. Why has she got to wait 2 weeks?

    Good luck whatever you decide

Hi Emzilla and Sassy, yes it is the woman I took daffodils to and have given food parcels too and clothes/presents and DVD's for the kids etc this year.

Thanks for your replies. I know this woman through her neighbour, opposite, who is a good friend of mine and the kindest person you could ever meet.

The woman moved into the area a year ago and her family (mum, dad and sister) all live in the Bristol area.

She has got five gorgeous children and when her husband was jailed for abusing her, my friend got very involved with helping her and her children out, but in all honestly she can't cope anymore and does not answer the woman's texts, which can be as bizarre as asking her to go and get sanitary towels!!! It is a shame, but I have been in this situation before and I swore I would not do it again, where you do all the running around and rescuing for the same scenarios to occur again and again.

The kind hearted one gets worn out and turned on, and the victim somehow continues to survive crisis after crisis. I've answered my own question, and deleted the text. I have decided that this year is for me to sort my own self out, as selfish as that might sound.

    Onwards and upwards xx.
