Maybe we just set our fun budget too low Fortune? I think I am much more a lillies than a loaf kind of girl, so I just need to source lots of cheap lillies.

You've got me thinking now... I actually don't mind loaves, as long as they are homemade or speciality loaves like rye bread, or ones containing sun dried tomatoes .....

At some point on this journey I am going to try and figure out my loaves and work out ways to turn them into honey and pumpkin seed bagels xx.

Thanks INOD, you are right, a well defined rainbow is a gift, that lifts the spirits. You also have made a very good point about the bagel, to which I wholeheartedly concur!

I am going to keep it as an analogy though, ready for my April escapades, because my lillies and loaves are going to take a further cut, with the aim of taking some of this belly fat out of my centre!!

Despite exercising and watching what I am eating, the scales are beginning to tick upwards again. I know this is my body responding to it's pre-programmed shrink and then grow cycle, which I have been cultivating for 30 years, but in April I am going to change the settings ...........

    Three key things for today:-

    1. Book appointment with DH Headmaster to discuss Scholar program.

    2. Send letter declining an invitation to a 'Super Heroes' party. I cannot fit into my Wonder Woman Suit yet!

    3. Complete mystery shop this evening and head straight to my Body Balance class.

Today I am grateful that I am still optimistic enough to believe that I can get down to the magic number of 146 pounds, despite 20 years of repeated failures !!!!! Some women never learn x.

  • Morning!!

I love optimism especially on such a lovely warm and sunny day - amazing after the big hail storm we had yesterday!

How is the wardrobe overhaul going? Keep it up as I know you're going to need some new smaller clothes soon. The fact you are aware that you're in a weight rut is brilliant (even if it has been for 30 years!) as this means you can work on getting out of it - and you're doing so well with everything that this will come too.

I have no idea what 146 pounds is except monetary wise but if that's your goal nice one.

Have a lovely, sunny & daffodilly day :) xx

  • I know what you meant about the weight RBR, I'm still trying to lose the post baby weight. The last baby however will be 28 in July!

Is it even possible INOD? I look at my peers and they are invariably cuddly. One of my sisters worked really, really hard last year to get under 10 stone, and looked fantastic. (I am talking boot camps in parks at 6.00 am, pulling sacks of flour up hills and a continuous diet of cabbage soup).

We were all ready to have a girly weekend in September cheering her on, from the sidelines, as she completed the Great North Run, but she's seriously knackered her knee and calf muscle in a step class and is now hobbling about on crutches. The weight is galloping back on ................... She says her running days are now over !!

Still, the doctor has said that I should be 146 pounds (10 st 6 lb/66.6 Kg), though secretly I think my bones alone weigh that now.

I can see, from the above post, that my thinking is not quite where it should be to conquer this mountain, so I have my latest weight loss bible to absorb, Marilyn Glenville's, "Fat around The Middle, How To Lose That Bulge - For Good." Failure is not an option, even if success never happens!!!!

Today I am going to focus on my wardrobe.

    1. Throw/charity shop any clothes that I am never going to wear.
    2. Store clothes that are out of season.
    3. Audit the clothes that I have left and see where the gaps are, or where the clothes are depending on the results of 1 and 2.

Today I am grateful for challenges. TTFN xx.

  • Morning!

I'd like to thank both you & INOD for making me genuinely laugh out loud this morning with your humour. Nearly lost my coffee haha

I was going to comment about your weight loss target but feel I can't really as I don't know what your current weight is (and I'm so not going to ask a lady!) However, if it seems a big challenge why not break it down into smaller challenges - just as you would paying off debts or savings? I'm sure you already are doing this but it's just a thought. Losing a few pounds by mid-April must feel more achievable then getting down to your bone weight!

Good luck with your clothes challenge. I can't wait to hear how much you've cleared out :) x

Hi Sassy, my current weight has been fluctuating between 11 stone 4 lb and 11 stone 6 lb, it needs to fluctuate between 10 stone 4 lb and 10 stone 6 lb, I am 5' 6" tall (but very heavy boned lol).

On a positive note, 6 months ago it was fluctuating between 12 stone 4 lb and 12 stone 6 lb, so I am half way to target and just having a little breather, in March, before I move on to phase 2.

So, 14 lb to go and three months to do it in. That is just over 1lb a week, which sounds feasible, but 20 years of experience has taught me that this last stone hangs on for dear life, it is literally welded on. I have to gear myself up for the mother of all weight loss struggles, but it's going to happen ................

I was at my glamorous friends this morning and she has just bought this new contraption, for curling hair, that 'only' cost £120.00. I now have a very fancy, curly hair do, that is stiff with hair spray, and makes me feel like a pampered poodle, but it did get me my first 'wolf' whistle in ages.

    Onwards and upwards xx.

  • Wolf whistles rock so I'd be made up with that if I were you!

Losing the the weight already is good and I'm sure with everything you're doing you'll manage the 1lb a week. I have every faith in you :) xx
