  • Hi RBR, glad to see the progress continues. My LBM was linked to incapacity that made me think what could happen if I was unable to work at some point. Thankfully my op corrected the worst but I need to remember the feeling to keep me on track

  • Hiya

Glad to hear that your decluttering is going so well! I have this image of your washing pile all cleared with a little leprechaun and a crock of gold waiting for you :) If only hey?

Physical health is always a good way to keep your mental health healthy, something I've always believed in but am to damn lazy to put into practice!

    Have a good evening! x

  • Hi RBR, meant to ask. Is your mum entitled to any extra pension credits?

Hi INOD, it does look like she is going to be entitled to them, according to their entitlement calculator, as she has no savings and is on a basic pension with the top-up credits that she was getting before.

She phoned up and they sent her a form which she has filled in and she is awaiting a response. I will post on here when I hear. She has also sent off for her blue badge.

I have been really, consciously, steering mum but letting her do all the steps herself, and it is working extremely well. In the past I have just gone in there and rescued her, but with hindsight this helped to create a dependency, which wasn't really what either of us wanted. We live and learn, hopefully x.

I appreciated your comment about remembering the feelings to keep us on track. That is so true, because when the panic is over it is so easy to drift back into the old habits that contributed (in my case) to the emergency.

Sassy, your comment made me laugh. I am down to the final few loads, and what I have actually found, right at the bottom, is another 10 of DH shirts, that I may have subconsciously hidden there!! DH is the real hoarder in this family, and he has masses of clothes, changes a couple of times a day, and refuses to throw out any, because even the worse of them will one day, in his opinion, be useful for rags!!!!

There was one pair of Jeans, in there, that had no bum on it, half a crotch, no knees and a frayed hem, which he called his gardening trousers. He reluctantly agreed that I could throw them out, when I pointed out that the neighbours could report him, if he wore them in public, as he was in danger of indecently exposing himself.

Once I have finished decluttering the whole house, I will tackle this with DH, otherwise all that will happen is that he will take over my empty drawers. That is for another month though. This month is to sort out my wardrobe. One step at a time ......

    Today three key things:-

    1. Zumba Class
    2. Letter for school re event that I will not be able to attend.
    3. Card for family friend who is in hospital.

Today I am grateful for people here who share the ups and downs of their journey's, and are helping me to move forwards. THANK YOU xx.

  • Morning

I think the threat of indecent exposure is a very valid reason to throw worn clothes out! Besides, it's nowhere near warm enough for that much skin to be on show :)

Lol! That is certainly not a place to get frost bite!!

I had a wee panic attack as the Waitrose delivery van has just arrived, and I had not put an order in this week. It turned out it was for my neighbour. Talk about keeping up with the Jones'. We both used to use Tesco and now I have moved over to Waitrose, so, it appears, has she. Lol!!

I know this is not the usual progression on MSE, I should be a Lidl/Approved Foods devotee by now, but I am spending less at Waitrose than at Tesco's and the quality of the food, in my opinion, is much better, and there is no delivery charge on shops over £50.00.

  • I just got a £4.00 John Lewis voucher from Waitrose, and a lovely letter apologising for my manky pineapple and advising me that the supplier had taken the appropriate action.

They had already e-mailed me, after the event, refunded me double for the pineapple and sent me a £5.00 Waitrose voucher. I think this is the universe telling me to stick with Waitrose lol, on a menu planned, strictly budgeted basis, focused around special offers!. It is, in my humble opinion, your average Diva's perfect place to shop!

  • I finally understand Fortune x. Shopping and eating moves from a mundane experience to the great pleasure in life that it should be.

There are at least two Waitrose Divas on MSE then, the rest of them must be in deep hiding lol.

I just love the great service you get Rainbow, and the quality. And for me, it's cheaper than the other big supermarkets.
