exacltly, Note that this is a forwarding address.
"IF" their letters/communication are not forwarded - officers can still turn up at this 'default address' and issue an enforcement order.
So you agree it's not illegal for them to have a different trading address to their registered address?
And no, 'enforcement officers' would turn up at their trading address, not their registered address because they know they are not physically there, because they would already have told Companies House that no company records are kept at the registered address.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

It doesn't matter one iota if it is a forwarding address or not. It is legally still that company's registered address.
Of course anyone can turn up at that address, but if there is no one from the registered company actually at that address what would be the point, and furthermore, what would be the point in turning up to deliver an enforcement order when the simple act of posting it has the same legal effect as delivering it by hand?0 -

It'll suspect it'll be close to not being not illegal in the world of hpuse.0 -

Can you teach us how to use Google please as you've done so well using it to prove your point regarding the legalities of Registered Addresses.
Although I probably do have far more grasp of enforcement procedures than you do already judging by the comments you've been making.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

For the majority of legislative infractions involving such things as Health and safety, trading offences, weights and measures etc, the relevant body will first issue a warning letter which can be delivered either by hand or by post to the registered office for the business concerned (which is why I linked to the Companies act legislation showing the legal requirements for a registered office).
If this letter is ignored, then a letter of enforcement will be sent and this generally gives a set time for compliance. This can also go to the registered office.
If enforcement is required, Trading Standards, HSE etc will then visit the premises where the illegal activity is taking place and if required, either issue a notice requiring trading to stop until the matter has been addressed or again, give a set timescale for compliance and with the assistance of law enforcement agencies, they can also get offenders detained.
Unless the illegal/dodgy activity is taking place at the registered office, there is no need for any actual physical presence of enforcement officials as all that needs doing is for the relevant paperwork to be served there, and as already mentioned, it is perfectly acceptable for this to be carried out by post.0 -
^^^Yep, what he said.^^^
Although how it happens in the world of hpuse is anyone's guess.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
I have a feeling this thread is going the same way as the Dog, deceased, vs the Vetinary. Except in that thread, there was elsewhere to put it, and it has piped down.
This thread can only end up in the arms, not of the law according to hConfuse, but the MoneySaving Arms.
Yes OP, carry on with your quest to tell us how to get our money back, and when you have done so, please enlighten us. Until such time as this occurs, I can assume that you are still out of pocket.
As for question some have posed for your consideration, the avoidance of these clearly shows an ignorance. The same ignorance that occurs when people are too quick to empty their pickets of cash, without consideration as to what they are purchasing.0
