Dear Pollycat, Mothballswet et all
This thread has evolved and now mainly serves the following purpose of discussion irrespective of geographic regions.
I don't really care what you change it to - but it should reflect 'the purpose of discussion'.
Don't you think that posting irrelevant 'thoughts of the day' degrades 'your' thread even further?0 -
Then you need to change the title of 'your' thread.
Once again I ask, please could you point me to MSE forum rules that states I 'need' to change the title of thread....For e.g to extend discussion to other geographical areas affected by copycatism?.
As long as you are not furnishing those rules...I am going to ignore any further request along those lines. Hope you understand.0 -

Then recent posts are off topic.
You will find that taking a thread off topic is frowned upon.
From the rules:Q. What's wrong with going off-topic?
A. The purpose of this site is to help people save money. So we'd prefer people to keep MoneySaving discussions on the main boards on topic. Taking them off-topic can be confusing for new users, ...<snip>... it makes it especially difficult for people to find the information they want.
If you've been asked to keep a thread on track but this hasn't happened, off-topic posts may be removed. We encourage community, but not thread derailment.Taking them off-topic can be confusing for new users, ...<snip>... it makes it especially difficult for people to find the information they want.0 -
I believe wealdroam has provided you with the answer to your question, hpuse.
"Furnishing" rules?
Do you really mean 'furnishing'?0 -

From the rules:
I particularly like this sentence:
Wealdroam - are you saying discussing a US law enforcement on goverment copycat and they addressing such people as 'criminals' is off topic for this thread? If that is the case - I am sorry I don't agree with you.
I particularly like your quote that points and serves "new users" in this thread, well spotted, apt for the topic. :rotfl:,0 -
I thought you were concluding for today in post #2211 yet you've posted twice more. Does that mean nothing you post can be trusted?0

It does not matter how you might 'refine' that, it is very clear that a discussion on US law enforcement is quite far from the subject mentioned in the thread title.
So, in my opinion, either the thread title need to change or the topics being discussed need to change.
It is of course always a good idea to consider how new users to the forum might find information.
Not being a new user myself, I can only imagine that one might rely quite heavily on a thread title to determine the content of that thread.
Hpuse, think for a moment of all those new users from the USA who have been drawn to this thread. What do you think they may get out of it?
I would suggest next to nothing.
For that reason I believe there is no place for a discussion on US legislation on this thread, and probably not on any thread on MSE.
Anyway, let's get back on topic... what ever that may be.0
