Can someone translate that to English please?

bod1467 - what that means is, if you think all the trades that are legal by definition (for e.g government online copycats) in the world should be allowed to continue - then it is worth thinking again.

Ah! , by the way - now do you see why this thread keeps going on...and on...and on...

I have a very clear strategy on how to steer this copycat thread.
May be what people doesn't realise is - they are being 'drawn' by it. [oh please don't ask to explain what that means....its plain stupid english!!]:rotfl:

    HPUSE.

This core matter of this thread is always about copycat website looting customers fraudulently - be it US or USA.

It only starting mentioning copycat websites in the USA because you brought up totally irrelevant links to FBI investigations.
Your opening post was specifically aimed at UK websites and nothing whatsoever to do with the USA, but as usual, you are changing your stance again.

    Quotes from your opening post.
Official MSE Insert: Please read our recent News story: Extra Cash to tackle Copycat Government Websites and our Copycat websites guide
In no way relevant to the USA.
Plus watch this Trading Standards Youtube video:
Trading standards have to presence or influence in the USA so no relevance to the websites there.
There is a company called British Passport Services sending court claims and winning default judgement against people who have clicked their copycat websites. This matter is currently being investigated by trading standards and other agencies. If you happened to receive a court claims form, please do not ignore it. Check this link and contact your local CAB
1/ British Passport services. Not US Passport services.
2/ As already mentioned, TS don't operate in the US.
3/ CAB don't exist in the US.
You may also add that it has come to your notice from various media/newspaper articles that Trading Standards and Advertising Standards Authority are investigating against these government website copycat practice
The ASA don't operate in the US.
    b) Call the appropriate trading standards consumer advise line of the region you reside
There is no consumer advice line in the US.

    Etc
    Etc
    Etc.

So your stating that the core matter of this thread also covers websites operating in the USA is pure rubbish and you have only now started mentioning this to cover up the fact that the FBI related link you gave is of no use or relevance to anyone living in the UK.

    HPUSE.

Is writing absolute waffle that no one understands, introducing irrelevant and pointless links from countries whose laws differ greatly from ours and constantly editing your posts when it's pointed out that you have made yet more errors a strategy to be proud of?

    @George Michael

As far as I am aware - there is no MSE forum policy that states discussion of a topic must be within the jurisdiction or laws of land governing UK.
If you are aware of such a policy, please point to me - I will remove my post.

Otherwise chill. Read on...move on. ;)

You went off topic which against forum rules. You brought in a totally irrelevant FBI criminal investigation in the USA which is against forum rules.
  • A week ago, BoPsie filled in her application online and sent off her old passport.

Today, her new passport arrived, and she did this on her own, without hindrance or a service provider. And all at the set cost of £72.50

    Really?

In that case, maybe you should change the title of the thread to avoid confusion....?

I am empathetic to your suggestion to improve this copycat thread, Pollycat - but you haven't told me what the change of title should look like in your opinion to help the readers?

But please do remember, my thread is meant to be read by people who have 'lost' money or concerned about clicking copycat websites, Pollycat. I always welcome suggestions tho':) . Thank you.

You titled this thread "Steps to take if you have been ripped-off by a copycat government website" which to me should be a list of things you should do if you have been ripped off by a copycat website.

It may have started out that way but by posting random & irrelevant links you have muddied the waters so much that I can't see it being of help to anyone.

    Quote from your OP:

Please note: This post is aimed at the best interest of a consumer, who are concerned and has lost money to government copycat websites in operations. This is NOT a definitive guide to secure a refund:

Do you really think you are helping consumers who have been ripped off by posting random links to US websites?

What is the point of posting non-related links, such as the one in your post #2114.
