    you missed something.

    Point zero

Enforcement works differently based on the nature of trading activity.

If you are trying to prove I know nothing, then you probably need another 10K posts?

    so NO POINT then?

    quite.

So perhaps you could point out where in the Enforcement Concordat these differences are mentioned. ( after all, it was you that brought this subject up so surely you can find something to back up your claim).

You also failed to state the relevance of any enforcement when the companies being discussed here are all operating legally.

Why on earth would I want to prove that you know nothing?
You are managing to do this extremely well without any help from me.

I have to say hpuse I have seen many epic threads in here where someone will try to dig themselves out of a hole and only succeed in digging it deeper.

But you could start a mine with the amount of shovelling you have been up to.

Does anyone else think hpuse wanted his username to be house but couldn't spell it?

I only empathise with people who feel I am shovelling.

Anyone still remember 2012 Olympics/... TS swiftly closed dodgy sites selling tickets. EC was easy since with Olympic authority and bogus ticket sellers. They started appearing in 2004 for Athens and followed the same pattern for Beijing ...

Copycat websites follow the same trail...
However, the problem is, these government websites and services were not designed to withstand "copy-catism" or prevention/prohibition of the same. Hence enforcement is tricky and need lots of stats evidence and a collective and co-ordinated efforts.

Watch this space, we will keep this thread live for more fun and frolic.

Yes, I know my efforts here to help people are vetoed, but as I mentioned earlier OP still stand taller than some other posters ego. In days to come it will get interesting and Pollycat will be there to anchor it as always..:rotfl:

Selling dodgy tickets isn't the same thing.

Your choice of words (and those you make up) does not help your posts; your words and meanings are as woolly as the websites you purport to despise.

If the Government was bothered about this it could bring in a law to forbid website 'cloning' and stop all this; equally the DSRs could be tightened preventing these sites from allowing a cooling-off period. If the DSRs were tightened up these sites would soon go out of business; as it is at present they have found a loophole in the DSRs and they are exploiting it fully.

You would be of more help to the unwary public if you publicised how to avoid being 'scammed' by websites such as these in the first place (ie before opting to buy the service) and if you campaigned properly to either have them closed down and/or have the DSRs tightened thus forcing them all to give refunds.

Because on here you're either preaching to the converted or giving newbies false hope.

I would hope that even the most wet-behind-the-ears newbie who stumbled upon this thread would - in less than 10 seconds flat - realise that this thread "Steps to take if you have been ripped-off by a copy-cat government website" offers no hope that that the advice given by hpuse is of any value whatsoever.

One of the main culprits is Google they are quite happily taking the offending companied money and putting the ‘adverts’ at the top of the search page. Newspapers offer a MOPS scheme where if you get ripped off you claim thought this scheme Google should be a member of the same scheme.
Maybe is time for a ‘class action' against Google?

What a shocker - Google is taking money for adverts by legitimate websites.
