Steps to take if you have been ripped-off by a copy-cat government website

T8. [903001] Graham Jones (Hyndburn) (Lab): Last weekend I was searching for a V14 form to return a tax disc, I did a search on Google and a copycat website came up offering services that cost money. What efforts are being made by the Government to work with the advertising agencies to try to deal with copycat websites that are ripping people off?
Mr Maude: My colleagues in the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and I had a meeting with Google and others last week to address exactly this issue. We are taking urgent steps, with Google and with the Advertising Standards Authority, to address it. It is a real concern, the hon. Gentleman is right to raise it and we are on the case.

Is that enough for you, Pollycat?
Of course it's not enough for me - and you know it.
Azari has already pointed out the difference between your ridiculous claim that Google "has a team of engineers working round the clock to stop copycat ads getting displayed by these perpetrators" and the "urgent steps" mentioned in your link.
"We are on the case" does not - in my world - translate to "Government is in the process of amending legislations to curb copycat activities.... "
So your 2 claims have absolutely no basis in fact.
You read something and gave it a totally different meaning because that is what you want to believe.
Unfortunately (for you), hpuse, posters on this thread know you and don't believe anything you write.0 -

There's also another 8th on the list.
All that hard work wasted?
Do you mean that the Google "team of engineers working round the clock to stop copycat ads getting displayed by these perpetrators" still haven't yet managed to stop these companies? :rotfl:0 -
