T8. [903001] Graham Jones (Hyndburn) (Lab): Last weekend I was searching for a V14 form to return a tax disc, I did a search on Google and a copycat website came up offering services that cost money. What efforts are being made by the Government to work with the advertising agencies to try to deal with copycat websites that are ripping people off?

Mr Maude: My colleagues in the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and I had a meeting with Google and others last week to address exactly this issue. We are taking urgent steps, with Google and with the Advertising Standards Authority, to address it. It is a real concern, the hon. Gentleman is right to raise it and we are on the case.

Is that enough for you, Pollycat?

    Hmmm:

"We are taking urgent steps, with Google and with the Advertising Standards Authority, to address it" != "Google has a team of engineers working round the clock to stop copycat ads getting displayed by these perpetrators"

Sorry, I know I shouldn't be encouraging him.)

FYI, I do not need anybody's encouragement.
For every newbie that comes to this thread and makes few strong statements against this copycats or posters religiously defending bank's refund position -they are swiftly reported and branded as what they call "hpuse"'s AE.

That itself is the best encouragement I get to never quit!!

FYI, AZARI - Google does not publish their operation's and monitoring procedures in public domain.

They already have a bad press for tax evasion and don't want to ruffle feathers again with UK government.

If you want, search for "tax disc" and tax discount" and see the difference on a copycat that was removed few weeks ago.

    No, I don't.

Why would general "public", whoever he is, read this thread?

There is simply nothing of any use to anyone here.

go on then - post quotes to prove hpuse is not an AE of any of these posers!

Not that that is what you were asked to prove.

But. apparently, you cannot provide quotes to substantiate your wild claims. Why am I not surprised?
