And another section quoted from your link (above)
    http://www.tradingstandards.gov.uk/extra/news-item.cfm/newsid/1429

Government continues to work with organisations such as the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), Which? and the major search engines, including Google, to raise awareness of the threat posed by misleading websites

Hardly the same as 'engineers working round the clock to bring them down', is it? -

    Nice link.
Are you aware that it is dated 4th March 2014?
So - not exactly breaking news, is it?

The article mentions 'misleading' and 'deceiving customers' but we all know that in the past these websites have adapted to get around the 'misleading' accusations so now they state - in big letters - that they are not the official website and they point out that you can get the service cheaper or free by using the official website.

IMHO, using search engines to keep these companies away from the top hits will work better - even if Google don't actually have "a team of engineers working round the clock to stop copycat ads getting displayed by these perpetrators". :rotfl:

    Valli, Pollycat et all..

I am no way in a position to backup that statement by providing a quote/reference in the public domain.

However, commonsensical - speak , I urge you to test the fate of taxdisc.uk.com and their ad was removed from the search results page. So yes, they are monitoring and they are indeed working.

Did anywhere in my post I say it is a breaking news on copycats?. So I would say stop hallucinating reading my posts and concentrate on newbie/AE's/ and other strategies to keep me away from here..

Well, why did you decide to post it now?

Are you struggling for up-to-date news?

I've never posted anything that mentions you, AE or newbies (at least as far as I recall - but please do correct me if you can find any of my posts that do) so I don't need to 'concentrate' on them.

I have enough fun making your posts look silly without worrying about AEs and newbies. :rotfl:

If you can't provide proof of source, don't make ridiculous allegations.

They may indeed be working - but they sure as hell don't have "a team of engineers working round the clock to stop copycat ads getting displayed by these perpetrators".

Admit it. They don't, do they?

If (as you seem to be implying) you are privy to information which should not be in the public domain about these 'clone' websites and the steps being taken (if any) to curtail their activities then perhaps you should NOT be posting on a public forum about them at all.

Because, if you cannot back up your claims, with verifiable quotes but expect 'us' (i.e. any poster/reader who may or may not agree with me) to accept what you say without question you are being wholly unreasonable IMO.

I, for one, am not going to accept that what you claim is 'correct' or 'factual' if you are unable to back it up or I am unable to verify it through another source.

    Pollycat,

I am repeating this, Google does not have to publish what/how/when they do things internally within the company for the public to consume.
Whether they have engineers monitoring round the clock or 9 to 5 on new adword accounts and domains bidding - it does not really matter. What matters is whether copycat ads are getting displayed or not.

The fact is : copycat keywords and domain are under constant surveillance by Google UK.

I feel sorry for all those copycat website owners are struggling for their existence in cyberspace.

These rogue traders will continue to receive huge hosting bills while they generate no revenue because they do not see themselves appearing in Google search results.... hahahaha :rotfl:

If I say google has blocked copycat passport, driving licence and European Health Insurance Card websites from their Ad engine - would you ask for a quote/reference ?? :rotfl:

Get real, if you have nothing to contribute to this thread I would urge you to report me to MSE admins for providing misleading information. That is probably worth the effort that religiously challenging whatever I write
