    Hey misst! How are you?

I'm really far behind having gone AWOL (sorry) so am trying to catch up.

Sounds like you're still as focused as ever. It's really impressive. I've missed reading how precise you are with your figures. I definitely need to try and emulate you more!

Where did you go for a meal out? Sounds like it was very reasonable!

Hope today has been good and sending hugs :) x

Hi Gib, great to have you back. Yip still pretty focused, the odd wobble but generally getting on well :)

We went to a local restaurant and just had a main each and soft drinks which kept the cost down. Was very yummy and will definitely go back in the future.

So yesterday was a NSD and I went to the gym. Today I've decided not to go to the gym as my muscles are feeling pretty sore. I've spent £8.83 on some cleaning stuff and toilet roll. Shouldn't have any more spends today as my plan for the rest of the day is to clean the flat before going to work. I'm working fairly close to the flat so won't need bus fare.

In the last couple of days, I've finished making my christmas cards and made 20 gift tags. I also finally got out the sewing machine and repaired the pocket on my winter jacket.

I got my payslip for 2nd job so will get £106.64 tomorrow
    - £6.64 cc1
    - £20 hot water bottles (hope if I get these, I can avoid turning on the heating for a bit longer :))
    - £30 food
    - £10 bus fare
    - £20 holiday
Leaving £20 for anything else that comes up

My dad is up at the weekend so will eat with him and my gran sat and sun then working late wed, thurs and fri next week so don't need much of a meal plan for next week. Mon - mushroom omelette, Tues - lasagne.
    Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500  1.8.25 - £106,362.86
    Mortgage overpayment savings - £2.11/£50
Mortgage overpayments so far - £675.98

    Don't give up!

Sometimes it feels futile saving when your money is just eeked out somewhere else. Sometimes my friends and I would go out for a meal, but I'd bring an extra sandwich or some pasta from home to work and eat it just before going out. So I could just order some soup, or a baked potato, or something.

Used to save myself a fortune, and still go out with my friends and not have to mention that I was broke. !

Been reading your Debt Free diary this evening MissTara, and well done you for sticking to it. You've inspired me to keep track of my NSD's and celebrate them.
Also, thanks Steerpike for the above tip, I'm going out tomorrow for a meal that as planned before my LBM, I shall take extra food to work to stave off the hunger so I don't get tempted by extras! :)
  • Very impressed with your christmas preparations, and sewing! Awesome frugality :) x
    Debt remaining: :(
    Mortgage - £117,759 (£134,600, Nov 2013)

Work overpayment and home improvement loan paid back (£19200)

Hi AleMrsT :hello: thanks for taking the time to read through my diary. Good luck on your debt free journey. I certainly wouldn't have got anywhere without the support and advice on this forum.

Oops haven't posted since Thursday, have been busy with work and my dad being up. OH gave me money on Friday so the electricity bill has been paid. Other than that, I had a NSD on Friday, yesterday I just spent £2.50 on bus fare to get out to my grans. Today has been a bit more spendy - I have spent £10 on hot water bottles and £18.11 on food. Have been to the gym today as well.

  • Hi MissT

Well done on keeping up with the gym. I am rubbish at sticking to that.

You sound so organised, I am in awe. I could'nt imagine actually doing any Christmas shopping yet. Even though this year I ACTUALLY have the money saved and sat ready in the bank account.

Think I am too scared to buy anything as the children change their minds on a daily basis ;).

    Keep going xxxx

I think I'm just very aware that I have no credit cards to fall back on this year for Christmas so determined to spread the cost as much as possible. It does make it easier that I mostly have adults to buy for :)

I don't imagine it makes for particularly interesting reading but it keeps me on track and focused!
