  • Wow MissTara, you sound really organised with your food budget.

Makes me feel like I am over-spending abit, because I really struggle to shop for £60 per week, and that doesn't include Meat or milk as we live on a farm.

I must go back through you diary to see how you are doing it .

    Well done xxx

Thanks Steph, I always feel as though I'm failing with my food budget as I usually budget £30 a week and struggle to stick to it.

There's only me and OH to feed, OH doesn't eat a massive amount and I get free meals at my main job. Shopping at A*di definitely helps keep costs down too.

Yesterday was a NSD :). Today I've spent £1.35 on bread and £1 on shower gel. I still need to get toothpaste, mouthwash and conditioner at some point but will do that later in the week. I'm just waiting for a bus to head up to start work at 3 so will spend £3.50 on bus fare.

I decided to buy a book from the bookclub at work for £5. Its all about making gifts which I thought might be quite good for christmas. I can hopefully save a bit of money by giving handmade gifts. If I don't end up using it, I'll give it to my sister as she would love it.

  • Hey MissT

Just catching up - sounds like things are well on track! I think you do great with your budgeting. I know I've said it before, but your precision is very inspiring. Makes me realise how lax I can get about it, even with YNAB shouting at me in the background, lol x

Thanks Gib. I find making a budget is super easy, sticking to it can be a bit of a struggle. For some reason, I feel like things are quite tight at the moment :( not sure why though, thought I would have more money now that the wedding is over.

Anyway spends for today were £3 in P*undland on the toiletries I needed and then £6.50 on my meal out with friends. I have another meal out planned for tomorrow and I have £13 in my purse so that's my budget for it.

Cc1 must be getting nervous about me paying so much of it off as I got a letter through with a few offers. I think that's the 5th letter in about 4 weeks, however, no thanks.

  • Have you perhaps been putting off certain spends whilst saving for the wedding, and now you've run out, and need to stock up again?
Maybe it's just that idea that there is more to go around! You're still doing great x

I had to do a stockup of food as we were beginning to run low on quite a few bits and bobs. But I think it's more just because I haven't been working so many shifts for my 2nd job and OH was off most of last week as his cousin was here. However, I shouldn't moan as I've picked up more shifts for this week and next so it will all be fine :)

The interest was added on today so I have updated my signature - now 25.1% paid :j:j:j and not much to go to reach my end of month targets :j

Yay, that's the good news. The bad news is that the connection between my laptop and the lead is being very temperamental :( and I have to hold the lead in to get the laptop to run off electricity/get the battery to charge. Obviously it will do for now but it's not a long term solution so I suppose I should start putting money into a laptop fund :(
