NSD yesterday, managed to eke out my coffee until this morning. Me and OH have just been to the supermarket and spent £47.85. Little bit more than I hoped for but it did include a massive pack of toilet rolls and washing tabs plus a duck crown for a roast dinner so not too bad really. We're having a roast tonight as I'm on a double shift tomorrow.

Not much else to report, it's a lovely sunny day here so 2 loads of washing done and hung out, pottered about the garden and have also been for my run.

    Hi Shoes :hello:

Thanks for taking the time to read through my diary and for posting. Unfortunately OH has not worked for over a year and is unlikely to go back to work anytime soon :( however, we get by on my wage.

Today will be a NSD, I've taken heaps of food to work so no need to spend. Rounded down my current account and have made a wee £1.33 payment to the debt :)

Spends for yesterday - £21.50 on a birthday card and present for a friend, £23 on a meal out and £1 on milk.

There's now £10 left in the social budget, OH mentioned we've been invited out for drinks next weekend to catch up with some friends so will put it towards that.

Couple of direct debits went out this morning so I've rounded down my account - another £2.84 paid off the debt :)

Another NSD today :D Will aim for NSDs tomorrow and Thursday and then do the weekly shop on Friday as I'm off work then.

Me and OH have been discussing for ages about possibly getting a dog but not really doing anything about it. Today I phoned the council to see how you go about getting permission for a pet so they are going to send out the forms.

  • My dog is currently on holiday and I miss her so much. Think very carefully as once you get used to them being there, there's a major gap even if they are just being walked when you get home from work. They also require so much care and attention. They are great though.

Thanks for your posts INOD and monz. It's something we have discussed for a while and we always said we get a dog once we had our own place. I also think having a dog will be good for OH's physical and mental health as it will encourage him to go out and about more. Anyway the forms came through today with a permission letter. We're looking at rehoming a dog as we both like that idea rather than getting a puppy. Will let you know how we get on.

NSDs Wed and yesterday. Went shopping today and spent £26.92 on food and £8 on lightbulbs.

Had a day off work today so went out for a run this morning, caught up on cleaning, washing and ironing plus did some baking. OH and his friend did some gardening. Had a yummy chicken salad for tea using lettuce from the garden.

I then spent a couple of hours reading back through my diary. Just feeling slightly off sorts at the moment and wanted to remind myself how far I've come. One thing that it really reminded me about was getting a proper emergency fund up and running. The last one got wiped out by moving twice in 6 months and I've never properly replaced it - currently has around £60 in it so only use in the tiniest of emergencies. I also need to save more money towards the electricity bill, again there's currently around £60 saved towards it - due at the end of August though so plenty of time to save. In September I have a hen weekend followed by the wedding the next weekend so better get saving for that too. I think I said previously we can stay with my parents for the wedding so save money on accommodation. OH has his suit and I have a dress I can wear (provided it still fits me) so that saves us some money too. Definitely need to get saving though.

Payday from 2nd job today and got £23.68 - £3.68 has been paid off the debt, £14.50 has gone into the food budget to cover the money I borrowed from it for the hen weekend tickets and the other £5.50 to the social fund towards drinks out with friends next weekend.

Did a shift for 2nd job yesterday so that will net me around £50 next Friday. I've managed to pick up two shifts with 2nd job next week :D hopefully around £90 the following Friday.

Right best head off to bed, working tomorrow.

    Yesterday was a NSD :D

Today I'll need to get some contact lens solution, lip balm and flour. Shouldn't need anything else though.

 at OH and his friend. They cut the grass, did some weeding and planted some bushes on Friday. In the process, they've managed to destroy all the carrots and pull up all the herbs thinking they were weeds  Oh well it's done now, I'll replant some seeds after work and see how they go.

Oh sorry, but that made me smile. My OH does things like that and I honestly think its part of his great plan to never get asked to do anything around the house/garden. So far his plan has been very successful! Still, I've had him for 45 years and don't have the energy to try to train a new one :-)
