Evening all. Sounds like there have been some positive days out there. :grouphug: to anyone who needs it

I've had an up and down sort of day. Bank this morning, to see if we could switch the mortgage to temporary interest only while we sell it. No.
Then, we went to 'spoons for a coffee to get over the bank, and worked some finances out. I should just about be able to keep the house going on my own once he gets a new place. Hopefully it won't be for long, and in return, he's happy for me to get a larger % of the equity once everything is paid off.
Met up with my aunt this afternoon, who had my niece and nephew in tow as my sister is on her jollies this weekend. We went to see The Lego Movie (Everything is Awesome! now lodged firmly in my head) and to Maccie D's for tea after. All very :money: as she paid! Also, she's selling her house at the moment, and has provisionally offered me one of her leather suites (provided she can persuade Uncle they should buy a new one). They're rich, so her hand me downs are usually fab.
Then, had a friend call round for brews this evening. She's mid wibble, just too much going on. As we're a bit the same it turned into group therapy :rotfl:

Shattered now, and busy day tomorrow with Church and studying. Might even take my course book to Church with me, and stay on after in the peace and quiet to read it. If I come home and try to study I find it hard to concentrate as I've so much else to be getting on with.

    Phew, long post. Sorry!
Not heavily in debt, but still trying to sort things out.
    Baby due July 2018.

    Morning All

I'm having a slow start to the day here.... just can't get going :o

    Anyone doing anything fun today?

    BW :)
  • Morning BW

I've still got my chores to do. Another load swishing in the washing machine at the mo and I must unload and load the dishwasher again, then I'll bung some bleach down the loo and leave the rest till later in the week!

For my fun today, as the weather is (once again) dire, I'm going to rummage through my fabrics and pull out enough material to make another quilt top. Now my mother would say (and frequently does) why do you want to make another quilt just to stick it in the cupboard?! This is always followed by her trying to get me to donate another one to her. She re-decorated (well, strictly speaking, I re-decorated after she bought the paint) her bedroom and the colours she has now don't go with the quilt she has. The problem is that she chose colours very similar to those in my bedroom and she wants the one off my bed! She doesn't seem to grasp that it is in use so is not going spare.

So, I feel a bright coloured quilt coming on - probably to be made on Friday as the car is going in for a service so I will be stuck at home all day.

Hope others have something nice planned.

    Hi RPP :)

Making a quilt sounds lovely. I'm not very good at crafty things but love seeing the things others make.

    Have a wonderful day hun
  • I watched "It's Complicated" last night. Well, about 25 minutes of it: the suspension of disbelief was too great ... it felt like Rock Hudson/Doris Day re-iinvented. And I had to sit through too many of those films on TV in my childhood! Just a personal thing but Alex Baldwin just a total turn-off! Why would Meryl Streep's character have been attracted back to that smarmy lardball?! I thought he was gross!

I'm beginning to think my retreat from written fiction has extended to film! But love my BBC box set of Price and Prejudice - the Jennifer Ehle/Colin Firth version - so soothing. Ah well.

Housework and tidying today, and a walk if dry this afternoon. I noticed that "Lost in Austen" is a four-parter so will watch one episode.

I hope you too have some sunshine and no wind, and that you enjoy your Sunday.
If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

I like that version of P&P too. My favourite though is the BBC version of Persuasion with Amanda Root and Ciaran Hinds. Wonderful!

  • Hi RPP,

Thanks for the recommendation - I shall hunt out Persuasion and enjoy!

    xx

  • :hello: Morning All

I should really get off my harris & sort out my chores but for some reason it just isn't happening yet.... Although The Archers are still on, so that's allowed.

That P&P is my favourite too - all of the characters are just right, aren't they. I've had that Persuasion dvd for a while & not got around to watching it yet - may be my downfall to getting anything done today :D

Can anyone persuade me to believe soup is a meal? I like soup but it never fills me up even with bread, & I end up eating far more food than I would if I hadn't bothered with the soup - not really MSE or helping my weight :rotfl: I'm going to have a go at making this tomorrow in the hope that it will be filling. I love her blog & recipes as the few I've actually got around to cooking have worked well.
& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin :D

  • hmmm....yes, I must admit I didn't enjoy that film, but everyone is different, so didn't want to say anything :p. Neither of the male characters in the film are worth getting your kn1ckers in a twist over, imho...but then I'm a confirmed Singlie so maybe missed the point :rotfl:

I've slept well (whoop whoop), and have a friend coming to stay later for a couple of days so have made a huge lasagne, then got completely distracted by the ladies snowboarding in the 'lympics (We won a bronze...well done, Jenny Jones!! :T) so need to get motoring again. Just a quick hoover round needed, then a scrub of the bathroom, and a scrub of me, and I'm ready :)

Oh, bloomin joiner rang me yesterday when I was out to say he thinks I should order another door as he has no idea when the one I ordered from him LAST OCTOBER  will be available. I had told him on Friday I was disappointed with his organisation skills, which had his young helper smirking with delight, but I held back on how I really feel as need the job finished. So, I'm now about to send him details of a completely different door...there's bound to be a problem, isn't there?

    Give me strength :rotfl:
