It's so easy to put things off isn't it, but then when we do get round to them love the satisfied feeling of having it done and looking better.

Think that has become a subconscious mantra of mine of late :rotfl: but I am working on it

Does that lot count as a qualified success?

Sounds like a VERY good start to me!

Plans for this weekend...partying and meals out:beer:. Working on making new friends in my new area. Will have to take things a bit slowly, as back is still a bit problematic at the moment, but am still planning to be there at planned events.

Ditto...bad back or no bad back...more house renovation stuff (wallpaper stripping at the moment) and some more learning Welsh.

Telling myself that the worst of the renovation work on the house will be over in about a month's time and I could take my time more on finishing rest of work inside house if I wanted and attention will turn to the garden...one wild-looking food-producing "jungle" is there in my minds eye for the future. House should soon be more user-friendly for a spell cwtching up indoors in future wild wild weather. Getting it together English-fashion, but with some cwtch-ing up touches...

Anyways, I don't have to cook either lunch or dinner tomorrow:D

Hope everyone else has a good weekend and doesn't get as drenched as I just did....yikes...

    Morning all,

Hope you are all safe and well in this weather? The wind and rain have woken me up intermittently through the night. I'm dreading looking out when it gets light to see if I have yet more fences down. (curses previous neighbour-disliking owner who put fences INSIDE the boundary round all 3 sides = about 40 x 6x6 panels)

LB do you get your essential oils cheaply somewhere?

    My to do list today.

    Put washing on - tick
Walk up to Post Office later to renew driving licence and photo
    clean house
    do ironing
mop laminate floor (curses again to Previous Owner)
Make another chemo hat for colleague to take to friend in Stoke next week.
Find some nice dried petals to fill the confetti cones I ordered yesterday (for DDs wedding)

    that'll be enough for starters

    Have a good day y'all
Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j

Multiplying your number of fence panels compared to mine comes to around £3,000 as a VERY rough guess to replace the lot if all yours goes for a burden.

Ask me how I know:mad::(...that previous owner or owners who put up a wooden fence and then patched and patched it, rather than doing a wall in the first place.

Guess which muggins gets to be the one who has to put up that wall then come better weather ....<hands up smilie> the buck stops here:(

Better see if I have time for a bit more wallpaper stripping before I head out for the day..

    Morning,

finished work for this week now, did my first 2 shifts, it went went, think I'll stick with it, which is good. Long day though, but when I was busy it seemed to go quite quickly. I do need to find better shoes though, being on my feet all day did give me feet ache by the end of it.
  • Well, what a week that was
All sorts going on at work (which doesn't make for a good atmosphere), lots of children in school with all sorts of dreaded lurgys which they share with each other and the staff (so generous of them!), two friends going through trauma's, DD stressing about "not being good enough" (she got A and A* grades in her mock GCSE's so now she's worried she'll let everyone down if she doesn't do as well in the actual exams), college open evenings, A level choices to be made, DS in trouble at school for being "silly" in a lesson, and my house is an absolute tip. Still, it could be worse :D

This weekend though, I have nothing I have to do (well, apart from chores - haven't washed up since Wednesday  ), nowhere I have to go and only one week until half term, so I'm going to have a "taking my time catch up" on some chores and just might take myself off for a bath this afternoon with a book and a glass of wine :D I can choose to do that, one of the advantages of being a singly :j

For now though I'm going to make some breakfast and sort through some paperwork while I watch Saturday Kitchen.

Have a good weekend everyone

    Good Morning everyone

I feel lovely and refreshed after a fabulous 10 hour sleep :D. Saturday morning lie ins are definitely one of my favourite parts of the weekend

No major plans today. Like Mummy Bobble - I am going to get some chores done. (My washing up is looking at me too :o) Pondering throwing a chicken curry in the slow cooker. Minimum effort maximum taste lol

Spirit - I feel your pain re fencing. That happend to me last year - although I only had around a dozen to replace. I looked at all the larger more well known companies but they were expensive and delivery was a a rip off. I found a local company that sells them for £15 each and would deliver for an extra £5. They even delivered on a Saturday too which meant I didn't have to take time off work :T Might be worth seeing if there is somewhere similar in your area

MITSTM - hope you have a good time at your meet up

need more :coffee:... back later x

... well I'm back...but it seems that no-one else is! Was it something I said? :rotfl:

Chores are done, dinner is in the SC so now I can chill out :)
  • I'm here ... just trying to catch up on everything I've missed now that I have four consecutive days off and have refused to bring (much) work home with me. I'm absolutely exhausted and need to recharge the batteries a little, so decided to stay at home, although I'm going out later.

I've had a lie-in, checked up on my mum and reminded some of my most neglected friends that I'm still here. I've made a big pot of soup with all the [STRIKE]bendy[/STRIKE] leftover veg in the fridge. Discovered that my hand blender has packed in and so I improvised with a masher and it's just as tasty chunkier than I'd bargained for (I'd have grated and cut a bit more finely had I planned on chunky soup).
