    Morning everyone.

I can not understand why more help us not being given to those in flooded areas. Is it cost? Shouldn't be. If those firms that are avoiding tax paid up and MPs expenses were cut right down. Oh I could go on. I'm thinking the weather is strange too. All these storms. Makes you wonder what's behind it all. Sorry for the rant.

Well it's shopping day with my daughter and lunch. Must remember to drop bags off at charity shop.

This really bugs me too, our govt is quick to hand out our (taxpayers) money to third world countries when someone there farts and 'needs' assistance. When it comes to our own people, they have to beg and cagole to get the merest crumb of help.
Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j

Sitting here feeling sorry for myself and the messages I've read here of folk just getting on with things despite all kinds of trouble is most humbling.

Hey! We're all only human, so don't beat yourself up about feeling low. Just try to offset it with achieving something to help make yourself feel better, however small...like a nice meal or a chat with a friend. Anything to get you moving really.

I had a really bad nights sleep, and as I am still off work for a few days, I had a really slow start to the day. But I have a HOOOOOOOOGE  list of things I had wanted to get done by the end of January, and that had to be put on hold unexpectedly. So, this afternoon, I've made myself start on some of the easier things. It's good to cross some things off the list, and, as a result, I have also now crossed one or two more difficult things off, too, and some things that weren't on my list, too, but probably should have been! ;).

Things linked to my new will...like joining the organ donor register...took just moments, when I thought it would be a difficult job. I've put it off for months thinking that! :o

Still got lots to do, but pottering suits me...I could easily make a good career of pottering....shame getting dressed wasn't on the list though...:rotfl:

Hope you're all having a good and productive day.

I think I can give myself the following challenges to meet before I turn in tonight (but not necessarily in this order).

-Go shopping for some fresh fruit and veg, use with recently made stock to make some soup to last the next few days.
-Deal with the mountain of washing up currently mouldering in the kitchen. When this has mounted up and I finally get round to tackling it, I usually allow myself to sip one alcoholic beverage at the same time. The logic goes, one cannot drink and work at the same time so if I am having a drink it can't count as work, however tedious.
    -Deal with the bathroom
-Sweep and mop at least the kitchen and bathroom floors.

I must also have this done and be turned in by 11 as I'm supposed to be up before 6am but it's been at least 7am the last few workdays.

So, did you manage all that lot before bedtime? I think we should be told! :rotfl:

    - getting dressed...errrm...whats that when its at home?:rotfl::rotfl:

On bad days "getting dressed" can shift uncomfortably close to midday sometimes imo....leastways I'm not heading into the supermarket in my jammies:rotfl::rotfl:. Just as well....as my particular version of "jammies" is sleeping in the nuddy.....:rotfl:. Cant afford the Marilyn Monroe (or whoever it was) version of "I only wear Chanel No 5 to sleep in darlink"....

Finally got a start day!! I start back at work on thursday, I'm glad I got a start day, but kinda wish it wasn't thursday as that's the one day I actually do something in the evening.

How did your first day go, Kacie? Hope it was ok...

Thanks for your kind words and I hope you got some decent rest. I've had a mental list of "stuff I must get round to soon" since forever.

    Well since you ask . . .

I was able to put off shopping until tonight, soup got made with the last of the veg which was going a bit "sad". Washing up was no bother - I really must stop leaving dirty dishes in the sink overnight because it screams "unkempt bachelor". Bathroom done also and the same applies - it's not even half an hour's work to stop it looking grimy but it gets put off again and again.

I didn't get the brush or mop out so will do all the floors this weekend instead. Later turning in than I intended - something else I need to work on.

Does that lot count as a qualified success?

Hoping everyone got more of their To-Do lists done than I managed.

This definitely counts as a successful evenings work.....you deserve a rest now, some chocolate and a glass of vino.....(or whatever floats your boat).

It's so easy to put things off isn't it, but then when we do get round to them love the satisfied feeling of having it done and looking better.

My place has somehow got into a tip again over the last couple of weeks, need to spend my days off tidying and cleaning it up.
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.

So, we've all made it through another week... :T

The weather is looking more than a little dodgy, so what OS plans do you all have for having an enjoyable weekend?

GroatieQueen - I can recommend the following films for your resting weekend "Up in the Air" (George Clooney...what's not to like!), and "Last Chance Harvey" (Dustin Hoffman/Emma Thompson) - , both romance with a twist. It's a shame you're not nearer, I could have loaned you mine.

My own plans are to continue through my list of chores, trying to use the adrenalin I am producing in huge amounts as productively as possible. If I can't sleep, I might as well get on with something. I've also treated myself to ylang ylang essential oils to help me relax, and no doubt a pamper bath sesh will feature somewhere:).

Whatever you do, I hope you have a lovely weekend

    Evening - TGIF :T

LB - good to see you. Well done on making the most of the extra adreneline and time. I also have a list of chores but whether I get round to them will remain to be seen :o
    The pamper sesh sounds great

    Keep safe everyone x
