I've had new carpets fitted in the last couple of year with furniture in the rooms.
In the lounge a 3 piece suite, and a divan in the bedroom, both times I explained to the carpet store that they could not be moved out of the room, no problem they said the fitter will manage, and he did. I'm not sure if I was charged any extra but would have been happy to pay a reasonable amount.

Morning,
Anyone else really fed up with this rain? It's making getting washing dry a pain, I don't have a tumble dryer, so I'm trying to make use of every dry day to get it done outside.0 -
No tumble dryer here either, I just put up with airers by the radiators. There is only me, so not mountains of washing, it would be a right pain with a whole load of washing from little people though. Roll on the summer when we can shove it outside again.
Off to sleep, hope everyone well.Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0 -
Shh, but it's a beautiful day here in Manchester, wasn't too bad yesterday either. Sorry:o.
Seriously, I know we are supposed to get mases of rain round this area, and we do, but when there is really bad weather around the country, we usually seem to get away lightly.0 -
The bottom half of town used to get flooded, but a few years back they put in a load of flood defences, so now it's just the fields that flood. So we're quite lucky here, compared to other towns nearby.0

Getting washing dry is the least of my worries with this rain. It was horrendous last night (in the SW) and I've just come home early from work (not feeling well - shouldn't have gone in). The usual route home is flooded and too deep to get through (even a land rover wouldn't risk it). Eventually reached home through masses of one lane tracks, five flooded bits (two a bit eeky) - and this is with living on the top of a hill and basically just keep heading upwards.
And it is still pouring down. I did ring in to my colleagues to report on the roads and it is unlikely they will stay there much longer as they don't want to be there all night. And we are not in the worst area ...

No, it's awful as well as frightening. I'm glad you are home ok. Feel better soon!
I'm sitting snuggly in the hairdressers, having a lovely pamper and being royally cheered up. We've worked out that my hairdresser and old boy cat are my longest surviving relationships....:rotfl:0 -
Need to add, it is now chucking it down here - shall take my smug mode off:D0

I'm lucky in that most of my journey to work will be dual carriageway, so unlikely to flood, but I've known it to not be gritted for snow either, so I'm hoping we don't get snow after all this rain.0

Looking at peoples comments on here and everyone seems so cheerful and managing to get buy on their money. One question, how?
I'm thoroughly fed up with everything , just seem to work to pay bills even after massive budgeting and cutbacks.
On the plus side I've not had to get my washing dry - i still take it to my mum at the weekend(plus i have a damp problem in the house)
and suffering today with a cluster headache
Apart from that - same old0
