Also this had made me think when I first moved into my house, my settee's etc were in my mum's garage and I just had family helping me move, the males said they couldn't get the larger settee in because of positioning of doors and hallway, they went outside to discuss removing windows  So me and SIL (she 6 mths pregnant) angled it and with abit of a shove in it went!! :rotfl: yes come on girls you can do it xx

Each to their own on that one ladies:rotfl:

Personally, I'd have done a variation on an approach I had to take when a large heavy item was delivered to my last address. Heavy in my terms, but not in terms of yer average male strength. My house was straight on the street and I just asked if he could put just inside the front door in nearest room. He said he "wasn't allowed to do it". At that point, it was pointed out to him that either he did his job and brought it in or it would be staying on the pavement outside my house and I would be complaining about not having received it and that he was a man and I was a woman who wasn't feeling very well.

    He brought it in:rotfl:

Variation there would have been to make it quite plain that my windows were staying put and were still under guarantee - UNLESS someone else took them out, in which case the onus would be on the "someone else" concerned to rectify matters if anything got broken:D, ie "not me sunshine, it would be YOU".

Yes, I'm ok and Old-Boy is doing fine as well, thank you. I've had other problems to deal with over the last few weeks, which I can't talk about as too raw, but I hope to be back on the thread with a passion to live soon :).

Thanks for asking, though. I really appreciate your concern

If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

Am still trying to do catch up with the thread as been either really busy or on shifts, hope everyone well, and that DIY projects or house renovations going to plan....or at least without disaster.
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.

I wanted to say thank you, actually, GQ. On Saturday night, I used the meditation link you posted on the previous thread. Really lovely, and I slept like a log afterwards.

I'm about to have a lovely soaky bubble bath and will be using the meditation again to try to help me sleep again.

So, thanks for posting that. Very very useful!

    Evening all

Hugs to all but an extra one for LB ;)

Interesting comments regarding the carpet fitting. I've been putting off looking at new carpet for my bedroom as I wasn't sure if the fitters would help move the bed or not? I certainly couldn't do it by myself but didn't like to ask :o

With hindsight I should have got a divan style bed that was on castors but I never thought when I ordered it. It was only when it came and I had it put together by a helpful friend that it even occurred to me about such things

    BW :)
