Anyone going to see this film?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QvraEG51Du0
I heard it being talked about on the radio today.
Apparently if you are single you're arrested and taken to a hotel where you have 45 days to fall in love with someone...if you don't you're turned into an animal of your choice and set loose in the woods.
Obviously more to it than that, but that's the basic premise.
It's called The Lobster.
I'd quite like to see it, but feel I should go with single people, and I don't have a lot of single friends!
If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?0 -
Just for you English people.....
an Englishman walks into a bar...
normally the Scotsman, the Welshman and the Irishman would have been there as well....but they're all still at the rugby.....:rotfl:

I had a fun adventure today, I felt like I was on a drugs trip.... I had a reaction to the flu jab, - woke up couldnt figure out how to walk, apparently I couln't string 2 words together, I looked out of it... and slept for eternity.. finally getting up 3pm...
If I had been out and about I would have swore blind I had been drugged.... yet everyone else in the house was ok.
Off to catch up with a friend tomorrow, and see her new kitten, cant wait for cuddles with the kitten xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -

Looks quirky and funny. Right up my street. With my luck at meeting decent fellas, I'd be inclined to just enjoy a long rest at the hotel and then be turned into a cat in a good home :rotfl:

Morning all... just about anyway
Hope everyone that is/was feeling poorly is better now
Does anyone else feel that time is whizzing past faster than usual at the moment? Or just me?I am making a conscious effort to try and be more organised and manage my time better but somehow I seem to have less... not sure how that works :rotfl:
I've not heard about that film - but it looks interesting... as long as they didn't show all the good bits in the trailer!

Morning all
Thanks Mothernerd - I least I know it's not just me
I had a very low key day yesterday. Just couldn't get motivated to do anything much at all. I even cancelled plans to see a friend as couldn't bring myself to goI'm hoping it's just the effects of the last few weeks being mad busy....
Not all bad though as I did manage to get the first coat of spray painting done on the box...
Very grey here today.... have any of you got the sun?

Love it Ellie :TDD is now on crutches and her foot in a sandal, back to a+e, shes pulled the tendon in her big toe, sprained it, bruising, she had to her nail burned into to release the pressure... the girl who did it has denied it all.....
SO all plans of tidying up sort of on back burner, so been doing few bits in the house. xx
Bless her, that sounds so horrible. Hope the situation gets sorted out for her.LavenderBees wrote: »Looks quirky and funny. Right up my street. With my luck at meeting decent fellas, I'd be inclined to just enjoy a long rest at the hotel and then be turned into a cat in a good home :rotfl:

Yep, that sounds far more funI think the film sounds interesting, but not sure I'll have the time to go while its out. May have to be another DVD to put on my loooong list to watch one day.
Nothing exciting to report here - just the usual domestic chaos & problems at school/with homework. Parents' evenings are coming up soon & DS is already dreading it. Unfortunately this year its on a day that I have an appointment I can't cancel, but I haven't shared that with DS yet :rotfl:
I shan't be going to the works' Xmas do this year - it's been deemed a couples-only evening. Apparently some of the staff have complained that their partners have felt left out at previous meals, so this year an edict has been issued from on high to ensure all partners come along. As the only singlie in the department I assumed I'd just go alone, but after much humerous (to everyone else) discussion, it was suggested that if I "couldn't even find a partner for one night" then I shouldn't be allowed to come along.
This joke went on for a few days with various famous single people suggested as partners, but then reasons as to why they obviously wouldn't want to go with me (Rod Stewart not an option as he only dates blondes with long legs kind of comments). TBH I've found it really hurtful & am hoping it will all have died down over the weekend.
I expect if I turned up alone they wouldn't refuse me a seat, but I know there would be a few jokey comments, & I just don't want to hear it.
Am I just being a wimp?& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin

I don't think you're being a wimp JKS.
They may only be having a joke with you, but to say " if I couldn't even find a partner for one night then I shouldn't be allowed to come along" is a bit much. how thick skinned would someone have to be not to realise that saying that could be hurtful?
I bet they'd be shocked though if they realised that it's put you off going. It's really unfortunate that you're the only single in your department.
(Just realised that my 6 closest colleagues are all married, but we don't get together much so it doesn't matter!)
Anyway, xmas works do's are often not all that great, get some wine, chocolates and a dvd, much easier than going out in the cold
I've not seen a soul all day, the only person I've talked to was myself
But am feeling pleased with myself...after much (much..like several months!) of procrastination, I've submitted my tax return, and all paperwork is now up to date.
If hmrc would stop tweaking and changing the rules it would be a lot easier...it's time consuming having to read up every year to see what's changed.
So am happy as I wanted it out of the way this weekend as I'm working every day next week (school holidays here).
