Not out yet BookWorm, but going to visit family shortly for birthday cake
No dieting today then!
Been hanging winter curtains, and fixing my fire, which wouldn't light last night. Sorted now, so saved some money there
Have several bruises which are bleeping sore!

Nothing exciting. Trying to get my act together to go to the SM. Small (minimal) shop but not sure I can wring another drop out of the toothpaste tube and like (on cost and taste) the 25p supermarket one. I am dressed but hanging on a little longer to see if I can nab any 10p fruit and veg. Could have gone yesterday or Friday but it was 9pm by the time I had psyched myself up and then was worried about the drunks - 3 'nightclubs', 3 pubs and 2 kebab shops in under 10 minutes on the most direct route. Usually I can shrug it off or avoid the worst but feeling fragile (some health implications due to antibiotics working their way out of my system). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0

An afternoon at my fav place a+e, with DD, shes fractured her big toe, but they dont do anything as its a small bone, just wear flats and somethng comfortable, ideally flip flops.... what fun that will be trying to get the school to agree.
Not much going on, really need to get a kick up the rear, not that I am not doing anything just my to do list gets longer, and I pick the easy ones...
Tomorrow is tidy garage - aim to have carboot, sales, xmas piles, then a visit to charity shop and possibly tip... xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
I did okay sending a note into school asking permission for DS2 to wear his best (fluorescent orange) trainers for games as I needed his ordinary ones. I had a sprained ankle and couldn't get my own shoes on. At the time DS2 had big enough feet for me to get foot and bandage into. They are more likely to want her to stay home/ confined to certain classrooms for fear that you will sue if someone else treads on the 'unprotected' toes. (DS2 again - he managed to break his arm and because it was his elbow he couldn't wear a cast).
I feel for you. DS2 went from tree climbing (mostly falling out), to skateboarding/ roller blading/ street hockey to rugby (union, the class traitor) and having failed to get on the rugby squad at university (got concussion at the trials doing a hard tackle so they adopted him as a mascot and he went on all their 'dos') set up an American football team.
Spent more than planned at the SM (£7.75 for my purchases but made a slight profit as DS3 asked for a couple of items and gave me change from his pocket which more than covered his items). I had an essentials list and a 'see what there is, at what price, getting through the month' part so paid 30p for more than weeks worth of bread, 2 x 8p packs of grapes (rare only allowed 15 a day so a punnet goes off before I finish it), small piece of one of my favourite cheeses (will be added to an equal quantity of onion and bound with plain yoghurt and a dollop of mayo for flavour, should make low fat cheese spread for a week), large 15p tub of hummous (not a fan but will add tomato puree and herbs), some of the plain yoghurt will have mint sauce added and the cucumber in the fridge will make sticks for healthy treats (did buy one own brand f&n choc - got it down to one treat, less than once a week), cooking bacon for 80p (in quiches/ with pasta and veg/ possibly a bacon butty) and tinned tomatoes (have frozen veg and dried pulses so planning veg curries etc) and as Christmas prep has been mentioned sprouts reduced to 23p and 3 large cooking apples at 33p (there were 3 smaller ones for 30p but same amount of peeling, more apple) so will make apple crumbles and freeze those (sprouts frozen separately not in the crumble). I might be weird but not that weird. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
motherherd - that could have been an interesting mix...
my worst meal choice, roll with brown sugar, mashed banana, bacon and brown sauce..
xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Doesn't sound like anyone's doing anything exciting today!
Ouch to the fractured toe
Oh mothernerd, you've made me remember the tree climbing. DS2 wanted to do everything DS1 did, and that included tree climbing...he was 3 when he was first stuck in a tree (that's maybe not a good thing to admit!)
I once made scrambled eggs with fish fingers, it's a horrible taste combination.

mum2one, that sounds like something a pregnant lady would crave :rotfl:
I was pregnant with DD then, it was one of the few nice things he did... Iasked for Bacon roll, craved a banana, expecting it to be on the side, he was so proud he had done it.... luckly I still had morning sickness... didn't last long...
Looks like my attack the garage is going by the way, DD toe is killing her, she cant put weight on it, pin and needles - so back off to a+E in the morning, they did say if it got worse go back.... xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -

I'm Welsh, so it was a fab day for me :j... DD toe is killing her, she cant put weight on it, pin and needles - so back off to a+E in the morning, they did say if it got worse go back.... x
Hope she's feeling better soon - how did A&E go? Must say, I'm surprised I haven't been there for some time with either of mine - or is it bad luck to say that out loud?
Life on the kitchen front is still challengingI may have my oven working again, but we're still not friends. Amazingly I seem to be able to simultaneously burn the top & side of a dish, while the inside remains raw/undercooked. No idea how - have 3 different oven thermometers & none agree with each other or the oven's thermostat. Trying new recipes in the slow cooker has had interesting results - some stuff has been OK (if you add a good splash of Worcester sauce :rotfl:) but other stuff has been truly vile, even following recipes religiously & from more than 1 book. Baffled  & kids keep asking if we can get a carry out instead!
My idea of Heaven would be a personal shopper/cooker/washer upper & putter away-er so I'd never have to venture into the kitchen again
DD has managed to hijack both of my planned nights out for this month - last night I was supposed to go out for a meal but she got involved in an incident at college with another student. DD is fine & was just really a witness, but the child protection officer has been in touch & DD was so emotional I couldn't leave her. Tonight she's managed to miss the train home, so I'll need to walk & meet her from the next one as public transport in so carp here there isn't a bus home from there for 2 hours. So about 75 minutes of walking for me instead of going to book group (which I could certainly do with, but why does it have to be tonight). Still, it'll save me some money & no, I haven't read the book :rotfl:
Hope everyone else is doing OK. I haven't been around much as life is just frantic & even more difficult (although last month I couldn't see how it could get worse apart from death & destruction, but then the universe put me back into place & I was reminded in exquisite detail just how more carp my life could get). I don't want to post miserable stuff, therefore I don't post. Does make life simpler& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin

DD is now on crutches and her foot in a sandal, back to a+e, shes pulled the tendon in her big toe, sprained it, bruising, she had to her nail burned into to release the pressure... the girl who did it has denied it all.....
SO all plans of tidying up sort of on back burner, so been doing few bits in the house. xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0
