Blimey JKS, have you thought of writing a sitcom, you could make your fortune :)
(at least you didn't end up trapped in the clothes horse like a picture of a woman I saw this week!)

For what it's worth, I like you too :D
    but CRANKY is quite right...

I like the look of Bexsters book suggestion.

This weekend is turning out better than last weekend for me (well it didn't have much to beat :rotfl:). Today has not been perfect, but much more going right than wrong (sorry JKS!)

Been out all day but now home and eyeing up the solitary bottle of beer in my fridge, and wondering if it would go with chocolate cake?

mum2one DD sounds like she is enjoying the trip! Sometimes you end up enjoying things more than you think you will. :) Hope the car boot sale goes well.

    Happy Longest Day, Everyone

Yes, I'm sure your DD is a miss, Mum2One.

My house only feels like a home when the pusses are here, and relaxed and happy. I was woken this morning by them wrestling together on their cat tree, and LMMM has also just stalked and killed a balled up pair of newly washed socks, so I think it's safe to say "we're home". :D

Waking up to a clean and tidy house has also helped resettle me :T and, as always, my dread of a significant family day (Daddy's Day as I called it) is worse in the run up and easier on the day itself, thank goodness.

So, today is a lazier day, as I hoped it would be. It started with a bacon and egg sarnie, while watching the garden programmes and there will be a trip to the garden centre shortly as there is a space in my front garden that is begging to be filled, not to mention a few pots.... :p.

Of course, I have NO MONEY....hmmm....

I am also going to enjoy making a nice Sunday dinner in my new oven :T.

The bliss of a normal, restful Sunday....whatever your plans, enjoy it.

    LB xx

Yesterday I said about wearing the summer clothes last week. So, go to get the iron out (only iron linen summer clothes) so it hasn't been used for a while. Yep, it's died. I've already had car expenses this last week (exhaust fell off) and I would have preferred not to have to buy a new iron too. Oh, well.

Didn't do any of the chores yesterday (apart from grocery shopping and laundry but I like seeing the washing blowing on the line so that's not such a chore). I downloaded a free kindle book on Friday night and then had to buy the two that follow so sat on the sofa in the conservatory with cats sprawled about and read them both. Sadly that means a full working on chores day (with a break to get an iron). I guess I better get started then.

How long is your DD away for mum2one?

LB, glad the pusses have settled in again. When I got home last night DS2 had parked one of his work vans at my house and the number plate was YBC...you can guess who I thought of :)

He could do to borrow a cat for a few days, he has a very cheeky mouse in the house which he can't catch. A couple of weeks ago he woke up and the mouse was dragging a biscuit paper across his bedside cabinet, I don't know who was more surprised as they stared at each other! Last night he was chasing it as it climbed the curtains and ran about the house, but couldn't catch it. If only it could be trusted not to chew stuff in the house I think DS2 would let it stay! I've ordered a humane trap form eb@y.

No exciting plans here today. I have a lot of washing to do (but JKS has put me off that :)), a colleague will be bringing some work stuff round and will probably stay for coffee, and I'm going to paint a bit (I'm not doing as well as it sounds with the decorating, it's just 3 coats of paint on the same bits :o).

Will visit DF later, I've got him the new shaun the sheep dvd, he loves shaun the sheep.
