I must admit I am wondering if I can get all my workers locked in the cupboard next Friday evening
Probably not! :rotfl:
That looks lovely, Ellie. I, too, think it's relatively easy to change paint if it doesn't look as hoped. But I think what you have chosen looks good.
I've just broken another tooth...no idea how, no bits of tooth, no pain..just jagged tooth  Another trip to the dentist for me, but hopefully this one can be repaired
On a brighter note, I've seen my pusses :happyhear .YBC glanced at me, then did a double take when he realised it was me. LMMM is bouncing as usual. I can't wait to get them home at the weekend.
Right, that's me for the day. Going to watch Humans on ch4 at 9...looks interesting.
Have a good week All
LB xx
ETA - sorry, Ellie and anyone else feeling overwhelmed by events, the only thing that gets you through is prioritising everything. If you can leave something less important to later, then do so.0 -
Ouch to the broken tooth!LavenderBees wrote: »

Very true LB...I'm going to do the bits required for before the joiner gets here, and relax about the rest.
Someone up there is determined I'm not going to get my relaxing weekend...was just thinking about making a meal when DS2 turned up...he had split his head open and wanted me to look at it, it looked quite nasty...so *another* trip to the hospital tonight...the doctor has glued his head back together
If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?0 -
Hope he's ok, Ellie, sounds nasty.
It's "funny" how often bad things follow bad things or certainly seem to.
Hope everyone has a better week!

Hope so LB.
Maybe he will be more careful in future and look where he's walking.
He will have a scar to match his brothers...beginning to wonder why I have such clumsy children :rotfl:

Have had a lovely lazy day 2day, pjs all the way, thou it was tears - watched the fault in your stars - it gets me every time...
On countdown to DD going to France, so emergency run to town, needs new underwear..... then theres money, have to have English for way out and back, (£20) and euros (recommend 60) but translated to DD that means £30 / 100....
Thou back to normal tomorrrow, got to sort dads car insurance out, start gutting back yard, and tidy garage.. xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -

Got a freezer for £25, and delivered free
Everyone keep their fingers crossed that it works when I switch it on tomorrow!
Also got a wooden box at the second hand shop...have been looking for ages for a box to put all the work boots in at the front door, determined not to buy something unless it was "just right" (and cheap!)...well this will be just right once I've sanded and painted it
It hadn't even made it into the shop, had been unloaded and was still sitting on the pavement when I spied it.
The way things are going though, it may be some time before it sees a paintbrush

A good bargain with the car insurance, the renewal quote was £300, when we said no we;re cancelling they came up with £250, why they dont just offer new price in 1st place, but topcashback to the rescue, - better policy excess, better benefits, £190 v pleased with, on top of top we're due to get a karcher pressure washer, and £63.00 cashback...
As for tidying up... I did the sainsburys shopping does that count...? xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -

Was it any good LB? I've taped it, but not sure if it will freak me out a little & give me nightmares....
I read a book when I was pregnant with DD (who is now 15) & every few months or so I still have a nightmare about it. It described a woman (it's always a woman ) that got taken from an underground laundry room & came to a bad end, & the room sounded very similar to one we had in a a nurses' home I lived in years before. There was also a network of underground tunnels that covered the whole hospital site which had lots of alcoves off them.... I wasn't scared at the time, but I was only 19 then & invincible :rotfl:

Yep - I've been putting off the really boring housework tasks like dusting for months. My social life has also taken a battering in the last few years too, mostly because -

- I've been thinking the same thing since about, oh, 2009 :rotfl: No sign of the bad things stopping just now either. My latest theory is that my friend with the perfect life, who is just back from her second holiday this year & whose son has just landed a full scholarship to the best school around is having all my good luck as well as her own, & I'm getting all our sh!te.Got a freezer for £25, and delivered free

Hope you DS is feeling better - that magic glue is wonderful stuff. We haven't had a casualty run for quite some time thankfully, but my first aid kit does need regular restocking each month due to low level injuries :rotfl:
Great news about the freezer & fingers crossed :T I like your idea about a big shoe box, so I may steal that one & keep a look out for one in a vague attempt to keep the hallway tidy. Must say I'm amazed you haven't painted it alreadyLove the colours you've chosen & all this talk of decorating does make me keep looking around my own house & wishing I could just get a team of men in to do it all for me :rotfl:
LB - how lovely to see the cats & it won't be long till they're back home properly. Hope the tooth doesn't turn out to be too expensive.
Horace - hope you & your Mother are keeping well.& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin

I'm tired of "my team of men" now, not their fault, but I want my house back!
I'm also worried about the money side of things as there have been little unexpected extra jobs cropping up, and eating into my contingency. Having said that, I feel if I don't tackle them now while the bigger jobs are ongoing, I'll always be narked and also struggle to get anyone in to do a tiny job. And, of course, some of the extra jobs are needed to allow the bigger jobs to continue.
Sure it will all be worth it when the house is clean and tidy again this weekend :T.
The decorating will have to wait a few months until I've saved up (and girded my loins for more upheaval.)
Luckily, I have a decent store cupboard and freezer, so will simply live out of those as much as possible to offset the lack of spondoolies.
That sounds well shopped Mum2One on the car insurance and the freezer will be a bargain (and so fast to get that!), Ellie. I got a bargain at the weekend - a light fitting for my "new" bedroom from Laura A at £175 off because one of the glass shades was missing. I have ordered a replacement shade for £10...:T
I luvs bargains :rotfl:
Of course, given the state of my finances, I shouldn't have bought even that
Right, shower time, and then must buckle down on a huge jobbie for work. One of those days you need a do not disturb sign
Have a lovely Tuesday, everyone.
