Morning all
I feel much refreshed after a lovely lie in. I see it's quiet in here - are you all doing the same?
Mum2one - at paragliding but well done to your DD for doing it. I've done a tandem skydive from 15,000 feet but (as daft as that may sound ) not sure I could manage paragliding _pale_
Think I need more :coffee:after that....

No! Where's the "spluttering-into-my-tea" smiley? :rotfl:
I started work just after 6am, but have a lovely early finish, so am now having a cuppa with my feet up.
I feel like I battled through work today...the winds were really strong, and the rain being horizontal just added to the fun...the only way I knew it was June and not December was that the rain was a little warmer
Don't know what the weather's like in the rest of the country, I hope you are all getting better than this!

Hello peeps
I was out today - got up at around 8am and then headed out at 9.30am to go to the local vintage tea rooms that were having their grand opening today (they have been open for 4 weeks). I arranged for a local poet to do the honours - and he wrote a special poem too. Met a chap (calm down girls - he is married with kids, plus he is a little too old for me). This chap bought me tea and cake:D I had more cake after I nipped into the haberdashery (inside is a baker) and had a free slice of coconut cake (that was lunch sorted lol).
There is a raw wind outside - if it dropped it would be a lovely warm day. Came home via the supermarket and I managed to stick to my list pretty much: milk, bread, eggs, ice cream and a some yellow stickered pineapple chunks.
I will be baking later - the DIY SOS guys need cake.
Also wondering why folks feel the need to lie? a friend was booted out by his partner (sent back to his mummy) because he wouldnt stop drinking. I have no idea what his parents said or did but he is now sober and returning home - just spoken to him and he said that he and his partner had a huge row and have to have time apart. I know that they did not have a row as such and that he has been drunker than a skunk for these past 3 weeks. Heck I have even spoken to him during that time. Can never understand the need to lie. Must admit that I am not keen on the alcoholic - he has a vicious mouth yet when he is sober he is as nice as pie.
Ought to mow the lawns - the grass is tall and the borders need weeding but cannot get motivated (probably because I feel cold). Plus my lily white legs are being exposed to the sunlight - they are more like solar panels as they are busy reflecting light :rotfl:
Toodle pip - I need some coffee.0 -
Will be around even less - mum phoned earlier to say that dad is in hospital where he was taken this morning at 10am. He is in ICU and has pneumonia and has had a heart attack. He won't be coming home - sorry if this sounds defeatist but it is something that he has said himself when refusing to see a doctor.
Might see him tomorrow - mum is going to call me in the morning.
Suppose I had better go and cook my steak - don't feel like cooking though but I will persevere.0 -
Sorry to hear your Dad is in hospital Horace - sending postive vibes and hugs your way x0

Horace - so sorry about dad, if you need anything just shout xx
Last ngt - most of packing done must be good as haven't had to use the extension on the case, been a gd break most of all to see dd relaxed, happy its like weve been able to close the chapter of the last yr and finally moved forward.
She has had the most beautiful ring given to her 2ngt, silver with diamonds on the front almost like a half eternity ring with a twist - for free off the jeweller in the hotel as a thank you for me buying 2 gild rings from.him, really vobsmacked xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Sorry about your Dad Horace, hope you were able to visit him today.
I've been selling at a little car boot sale today (after saying recently that I'd never do another one, and taking stuff to the charity shop). I just had so much stuff after my clean out that I thought I should...and now have an extra £94 in my pocket
I think the daftest thing I sold was a little wooden ladder to hang over the bath taps, so spiders can climb out :rotfl:
and I gave all my hair accessories away to 2 little girls, seeing as I no longer have hair long enough to use them!
Everything that's left is in the car ready to go to the charity shop...I'm NOT DOING ANOTHER ONE...EVER :rotfl:
My back is quite sore after all that effort (went on my own), so I'm determined I'm not making tea, DS1 will have to feed me (well, I feed him often enough)...and I'm starving, had breakfast at 7am, and nothing but a cup of tea since...I'm saving myself for whatever he produces

Sorry to hear about your Dad Horace.A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.
