Slippery slope....pulling wallpaper off...nightmare, in fact!
:rotfl:
walls being built?
Me wanting to paint my kitchen cabinets has morphed into painting cupboards, broken cooker hood - remove, broken dishwasher - remove and replace with cupboard (and paint it as I won't get a match as cupboards are old), remove wall tiles and replace with tongue and groove board (painted obviously, stand still too long here and you'll be painted), new worktop, new sink if joiner can't reuse old one...oh and the reason for starting all this - alter end shelves so I can increase the space for a cooker to 60cm, so I can buy a normal sized cooker. And now strip wallpaper from walls and ceiling as well.
All I wanted was a new cooker :rotfl:
(in my defence, I've lived with this kitchen for 20 years and never particularly liked it, it was never my choice)

All this talk of wine has made me decide to open a bottle of red. How I wish decent wine came in 375ml bottles - 185ml is often just a little too small for me (hangs head in shame). I don't want to drink a glass every night for 3-4 nights in a row but by day 4 of being open the red really tastes very different. I don't like boxes as I don't always want the same wine for weeks on end, & there just isn't the same variety. Having 3 or 4 boxes open at the same time would require a much bigger kitchen :rotfl:
Its a dilemma....
My dad recently gave me a case of half bottles of 2010 Medoc, so have a search online and see what you can find. You may pay more per glass, but then you do with a wine box too.
A quick google came up with this
Enjoy!0 -
Annoyed now, the cooker I'd picked out last week is now "unavailable" on the first 3 websites I've looked at, must be old stock
Might need to have a rethink.

Evening all
It's been an interesting day for me and not long got home after being out since 6.30am
Work passed without too much trauma and I left early to go hospital visiting. One of my friends has just had a baby a few weeks earlier than expected. All is fine with baby and mum but they are keeping them both in for a while to keep an eye on them as the baby is so small (4lb 9oz girl) I had a lovely visit and was just getting ready to leave and ended up having a bit of a funny turn. Came over all faint and my friend said I went very pale! The nurses made me sit down and wouldn't let me leave until they were happy with me.Took me another hour before I got away.
I think it was just because it was VERY warm in the hospital but I suspect not having had much to eat or drink for a while probably didn't help. I was quite embarrassedHowever, as my friend pointed out... I was in the right place if it had of been worse
Hope everyone else is doing ok
ETA - I see several of you are having tough times for various reasons sending hugs to all x0 -

Hi Ellie,
Have a look on Ebay as I got my oven on there. A double wall mounted gas oven- only 2 years old and better than its predecessor.0 -
I have had to copy and paste all my posts as the site wont let me send them as it is `timed out`!
Mods- please can something be done?0 -
You had quite an eventful day Bookworm, hope you feel back to normal today....EAT STUFFHi Ellie,

Thanks, I did manage to find what I wanted last night. Didn't want to order it yet, but was worried if I left it it might go out of stock again, so ordered, but booked delivery for a couple of weeks away.
Bits of good news and some bad at the hospital yesterday, left at rush hour so had to be very patient getting out the car park!
Have got the broken dishwasher out, it's sitting in the driveway lowering the tone of the street

When my post has been "timed out" I found that pressing the back button took me back to the posting page, everything was still there, and I just pressed "submit" again, and it gets posted...we obviously have to be speedy to get anything posted at the moment!

Thanks Ellie - seem to be 'back to normal' today... whatever that is
Glad you got your oven sorted. Good idea to book it with a delayed delivery date
I was also getting that weird time out message last night. Seems to be better today.. fingers crossed it was just a temporary glitch!
ETA - no...spoke too soon :rotfl:0 -
BookWorm Hope you're feeling better today. Look after yourself!
I'm also getting the timeout issues.A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.
