Morning All! (Just got in before noon!)

Good to hear from you dND. I was wondering how you were getting on, your place sounds gorgeous. Are you sure you want to me back here?? I'll swap you :D

Hello Kittie, you sound like you are grasping this new phase of your life by the horns. Good luck to you. Singlie life takes a little adjusting to, but I find it helps if you remember that, whilst it can be exhausting and sometimes very lonely making all the decisions/doing everything yourself, you are doing everything FOR yourself. You benefit from it all.

Ellie - your hair sounds fab. And at the end of the day, it's you it has to please. How is the diet going? :o

I'm trying to tidy the house having finished the bits of painting. I will have a few weeks before my living room and stairs are replastered, so hope to relax a bit and get outside more. Everything is covered in dust.... :(

My kitchen looks fresher but is really not good at all, I've decided that with the extra job security I will save up for a new kitchen...as this includes a new floor, damp proof course, replaster, and rebuilding to change the shape of the window, it's not going to be cheap , so it will be a while. But operation kitchen saving fund will be started in a few months time...

I was fed up with myself yesterday :(. I decided I would treat myself to a couple of new tops or something for work. Not only did I not see anything AT ALL that I liked (is it just me or are the shops really full of cr4p?), but I am also TOO FAT :(. Yes, I knew I needed to lose weight, and have ignored the fact I am gaining weight by overeating, but yesterday brought it home to me. SO....yes, I know you've all heard it before ;) but tomorrow starts huge cutting back.

So...I got me a new work mug....:rotfl:, but have decided to use that at home, so an old mug is on its way to the office tomorrow.

Right, must push on...When the house is clean and tidy, I have to finish my fostering homework for my meeting on Tuesday with the Social Worker.

It's my lovely Dad's birthday tomorrow, so I want to try to free up the evening to remember him.

    Enjoy your Sundays, everyone.

Thank you for the lovely welcome and those wise words

I am ahead of myself and am eating lunch. It was a short rib and so will do 3 meals nicely and the rice cooker was great, I set it to 12 and just piled on the veg. Really nice food and I don`t feel that I have scratched around today

Everything on my list is done and I have made 2 beetroot/chocolate cakes because I am trying hard to use stuff up, like frozen beetroots and cocoa and I am fed up of doing without something nice like a cake, pure and simple, a cake. I`m also making a parkin as that keeps so well and I have 3kg of oatmeal. So satisfying today to see two more empty jars go into the recycling and not to be replaced. I went shopping yesterday and waked right past the biscuits and the fatty pastries, yes they looked so tempting but none of them will satisfy my mouth hunger like a hm slice of cake, made with butter. I can`t eat just one shop bought biscuit, something in them makes me want to eatthe whole packet

I forgot to put stove cleaning on my list, so I`ll have to do that today, drat. Its a wood pellet stove and the only heat source and it badly needs doing. Then I will clear up and watch a film, eat some chocolate and have a mug of coffee. :)

Morning All! (Just got in before noon!)

I read this and thought "LB's pulled an all nighter, I wonder what she was up to!"...and then I realised what you meant :o
(unless you want to tell us anything?...:rotfl:)
Ellie - How is the diet going? :o

oh did you have to ask :rotfl: it's going rubbish.
I've lost one measly pound in 2 weeks. I want to be thinner but I don't want to eat less!

I've successfully kept off the chocolate, and I've not overeaten too much, but I've not been strict enough.
I still see nice food as a treat, I'm very tempted to make cakes this afternoon.

I need to lose about half a stone to make my trousers fit properly, was really depressed at how tight they were this week.
But obviously not depressed enough to eat less :o

If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?

    Afternoon all

Had an unproductive morning here. I start something and then get distracted and go off doing something else :o Have decided to take the hint and give up attempting anything useful today

Kittie - welcome to the thread.

Ellie - I know you can make cakes without eggs (I used to have a recipe for an eggless choc cake somewhere). Could you look online and see if you can find a recipe you could adapt?

:rotfl: Yes, those were the days (or nights!)...the "walk of shame" home in the same dress. If I'd have known how those all nighters would dry up (so to speak ), I'd have enjoyed them all the more. :rotfl:

I remember staying over at my exs when we first got together, and leaving about 5am to go home and get ready for work...as I was unlocking my car, a bright torch was shone in my eyes and a deep voice asked me what the reg no was...it was a couple of policemen! Well, of course, in the stress of the moment, I couldn't remember could I, so I blurted out about "sleeping with my boyfriend" . They must have had such a laugh ;). Like I looked like a car thief in my pretty cocktail dress and high heels

Ah yes, those were the days :o

But now, all I feel is fat and frumpy and today's bad diet of double choc digestive biscuits to help me through the housework won't be helping :o

Ironing now....so that's another 3 biscuits needed to get me even starting that. I need to not buy anything "naughty" to have in the house as frankly, I can't be trusted. So that, and using a much smaller bowl/plate should help.

You can get double choc digestives? I didn't know that (but I do now :o)

BookWorm, I was lazy, I just made chocolate crispies.

DS1 has been home and talking to me for 2 hours...he's not noticed the hair yet :rotfl:

I will try and catch up tomorrow, just posting to say I'm still around! Was poll clerk on Thursday and got myself into a nervous state about it all beforehand and then have been recovering ever since! It was a long day in more ways than one...6am to 10.30pm straight through...I don't do morning's. :D At one stage found myself hugging a tree...must have looked a sight...and no, not Green related but was trying to tie a notice around it and my arms wouldn't reach! :rotfl:

Was actually sick with nerves on the morning and hardly ate a thing all day...:o (I have made use for it since).

Friday I couldn't move, I was obviously using muscles not used before although can't understand why upper arms were hurting as I was only writing, not arm wrestling :p

    Morning, All

I've woken in a determined mood today - have thrown the remaining double choc biccies in the bin, and covered them in cat litter to stop me getting them back out (I hope!).

My tough time is evenings, doesn't matter how busy I am, but I am hopeful that restricting what I have in the house will do the jobbie for me.

I have a naughty black velvet pusscat who is gradually decimating a vase of tulips. It's a good thing I luvs her...

Have a good Monday, all. It's nearly Friday :rotfl:

    Hi everyone

LB If you don't have the chocolate, biscuits & crisps in the house then you can't eat them! :) Also watch the sugar content of foods - it is quite a surprise how much sugar is in some foods. Low sugar food is any food with a sugar content of less than 5g per 100g.

Byatt I don't think that I would ever want to work as a polling clerk nor be involved in the count - I'll just provide cover for my colleagues who are working as clerks/counters! :)
A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.
