It's STOPPED!
:j
As you were...:D

LB You have been a busy bee this morning!
That was bad luck with the filling coming out - I'm afraid that means another visit to the dentist for you! Hopefully you will be able to get it seen to quickly.
Hope that you manage to get everything done at the allotment without getting wet.
Hello  to everyone else. Enjoy your Sunday!A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.

Sounds like some fab weekends going on :j so much easier when the sun is out.
BW - I always seem to like the most expensive things too!...OMG...twice... a 3 story 5 bed house
Ours was just a 2 bed upstairs flat (a very full one!)
I don't envy you that task, although if when it eventually arrives you are in charge of clearing it, you can call in a house clearance firm much faster than we did. I was restrained by what my mother wanted, if it had been up to me I would have got them in quicker.
Of course, we haven't lost my aunt, she is sitting with her feet up in a care home, oblivious to our moans and compaints :rotfl:
Although tbh it's not pleasant seeing someone go downhill physically...if I could choose I'd just drop down dead one day still thinking I was healthy
Crikey - if you got 3 tonnes from a much smaller flat then I'm doomed . I can't think about it too much as the house isn't near a bus route so its around a 5 hour round trip for me on public transport & at least £25 in cab fares each time I go. I can't take DD as Ma has lots of cats & DD is allergic (ended up in casualty on a nebuliser for hours last time she visited the actual house) so she won't be able to help out. And of course, I'll have to juggle this with working in a school with no time off during term time, being a single parent & coping with my own declining health.
I'm also expecting Ma's nephew to cause problems when she has gone, as Ma & her brother fell out over their mother's will as everything was left to Ma & his side really didn't like itThere were horrible times of forged solicitors letters by my cousin's wife (she worked there as a cleaner, stole headed notepaper, wrote stupid letters, got caught & sacked), nasty phone calls to Ma etc. When my uncle died I went to the service but was disinvited (if that's a word) from the wake & it was made clear I was no longer family. That was almost 20 years ago & there's been no contact since, but I expect they'll come out of the woodwork.
This is one of the times that I hate being single & an only child - but putting a positive spin on it, I suppose all the decisions will be mine & they'll be no one to argue with :rotfl:.
I feel quite happy that the stuff will be leaving next week.
Well done on the sorting- its a lovely feeling to get rid of clutter isn't it? I even get a bit of a thrill from putting out the recycling - how sad am I?LavenderBees wrote: »Well, I've had a lovely day, really lovely.
The sun has shone, the sea has been sparkling, the beach was beautiful, the dogs had waggy tails and let me throw their tennis balls (they even fetched them back :T), and I had lovely company. I've not been home long, and feel very pleasantly healthily tired. I MUST do this more often...even if on my own. That's a pledge to myself
Yes you MUST! There, consider yourself told :rotfl: Sounds like a lovely day & hope today goes well too.
But my blinking phone is on the blink so for some reason I can't type in texts or wotsap, so no communication tonight... how did we manage without texting?? Remember those days?. I hope it works tomorrow or I'm a bit stuck
Ellie - to answer your question about work and fostering - everything is very much up in the air. It's so complex at work at the moment for me that I can't even try to describe it. My ideal would be to retain my current job and reduce my hours. It is looking very unlikely that will happen (though I'm fighting hard for it), and it could be I still end up redundant or worse, I leave without my redundancy payout (which would be daft).
Rosie - I'd probably complain to the bosses about the nasty atmosphere. Has anyone tried to tackle her properly? Why should you and the other colleague leave??
BW - hope you had a restful afternoon (geddit?) :rotfl:. Aye, I know, it's weak, but the best I've got.
Byatt/JKS - :kisses3: It just means there is more of you to love...
Aw bless you. Think there's even more of me today - is it possible to expand so quickly?
Well, I'm going to check on the chooks, then get my PJs on (of course) and have a lovely relax with some chocolate ice cream (freebie, so even better :T), . Bliss! One of those rare almost perfect days
LB xx
They are rare, so grab them while you can.LavenderBees wrote: »Someone is having a bloomin laugh!
I was just at the dentist for a checkup on Tuesday...clean bill of health :T, and fatal last words of "see you in 6 mths"....I might have known....today have bitten down on something harder than it ought to be, and a whole filling has come out leaving a lovely hole for food to accumulate and a new filling needed... How do you stop your tongue poking it? :rotfl:
Ah well...:(
But I've had a good start to the day - up early as always. Have got chicken stock in the slow cooker, prepp'd my veges for dinner later, the ironing was done while watching the gardening programmes, and the cats aren't speaking to me because they've been wormed and deflead...and it's not even 10am! Get me! :A
:rotfl:
So...now need to get dressed and get to lottie...loads to do there, but it will be great not to trip over the sprouting spuds in my porch twice a day or more. Shame the sun has disappeared today, but it's dry at the moment so will press on.
Hope you all have a lovely Sunday
LB xx
Goodness - I'm still in bed in PJs, so you've put me to shame. Won't take long for the cats to come around. B u g g e r abut your tooth, & I've no idea how you stop poking it, sorry :rotfl:Any idea when you may get it sorted? Hope it's not too expensive, but that's possibly a given?
Do you have any idea when you may find out for sure what is happening with your job? What a carp time for you, so unsettling.
No huge plans today as sorted the back garden yesterday & now the green bin is full, so the front will have to wait til next weekend. Or another weekend :rotfl:
Homework done - I hope, laundry done (boring) so just need to think about lunch (really boring) & going back to work . May even get around to watching that DVD tonight; not a hope last night as DD was in floods of tears having a teenage phase last night, so lots of hugging was required. She slept well, so hoping today will be better. I'm off to sit outside later & hopefully enjoy some sun.
Hope all are doing well.& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin

I'm another person with expensive taste - Glad to see I'm not the only one!A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.

LB - get to the duty chemist (or go tomorrow) and ask for a tooth repair kit. This happened to me over new year, and as the filling was on the side of the tooth (and there wasn't much tooth left TBH) it was a bit fiddly and I had to redo it a couple of times. If the filing is fairly small and there is plenty of tooth to support it, it should work fine. T*sco pharmacy do kits called Toothypegs. Can't remember what the one from my pharmacy was called, but they're all pretty similar and at least protect the tooth until you can get it filled. While you're waiting, if you have sugar-free gum, try sticking that over it to stop the poking... I know how tempting it is!0

I cleared our 5 storey, 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom (one used to be a bedroom), 24ft long kitchen house in 4 months once we'd agreed a sale. A lot of stuff belonged to the late MrC and I'd been playing at clearing for the couple of years since he'd died but it took longer than it should have. Once the sale was going through I really had to get on with it, and I did manage, but I lost count of the number of trips to the charity shop, the tip and to a local lady who sells things to fund raise for the children's ward at the hospital. I am also determined not to accumulate that amount of stuff to be sorted through if anything happens to me!
It's a grey day here and we're confined to barracks as the local motorway is shut for the weekend while they take a bridge down. The traffic going past our estate is all the local traffic plus the motorway stuff on a detour so it's not good. We'll be walking up to my cousin's house for a cuppa and a chat later but she only lives a 10 minute walk away.
LB, could you not go and get one of those temp filling sets from the supermarket? I know they're not exactly cheap but they might stop you getting a sore tongue from poking the gap or a a sore mouth from where a sharp edge rubs.
Byatt, if you've been going to the gym your weight gain could well be water retention. Muscles need fluid to repair themselves and any foray into the world of extra exercise can produce a temporary weight gain at first while your muscles sort themselves out.
Hope you all have a good day.0 -
Morning peeps
I'm another one who was up early today.... well early for me... and I doubt as early as LB
Although it has been productive so far...house chores done already - included dreaded ironing..although I only had my work stuff to do this week. I have also been out and done the garden jobs. Can't say I am a natural gardener... and I now have a blisterKnew it was dangerous  lol

Hah! Yes, gardening is dangerous! I got a splinter (spelk in geordieland-speak) right up under my thumb nail. Ouch! It's one of those times you wish there was someone else around cos you need 3 or 4 hands to sort it out.
But I've managed ...on my own...:T
I'm just back from lottie for a loo break and a drink. My lottie neighbour brought his young grandson to see my chooks and I said he could take my one and only egg today for his tea....he took it in his fat little hand, toddled outside the hen run and tripped, and dropped my precious Maisie's egg
:rotfl:
I didn't know you can do your own temp fillings...is there nothing you can't buy in a supermarket these days?!I'm hoping to get into the dentist pretty quickly this week but will bear it in mind, if not. For the time being, I'm making my tongue go the opposite way:D
Right, back to the lottie. Another hour's push should see me finished for the day, and a relax in the sunny patch on the spare bed, if I can shift the cats, that is.
Keep on Sunny Sundaying...

Not a clue - communication in my company is so chronically bad I suspect I'll be updated the day AFTER I leave by a random person at a bus stop in a strange town, who will know more than the management at my place do! :rotfl:
LB xx0 -
Thanks Cranky40, it may well be water retention, but it's not a good enough excuse for the gym ....in order to get another 12 weeks I had to lose 2% (not sure if that's right...) of my body weight. The emphasis has been on weight loss not getting fitter sadly, but also in the meantime I have a potential health problem, so I can't really carry on for the time being.
I am disappointed, I did enjoy it once I got there.
LB, what a shame about the egg!
Talking about moving, when I sold my home, I hired a skip...and kept seeing people taking off with whatever was in there...I also took loads to the CS...regret some of it now, not a lot, just a little...0
