When my head won't let me relax I run, as I have to concentrate on breathing and putting one foot in front of the other! I find that once I get going the problems often resolve themselves so by the time I get home I have solutions.

If you don't run, I suggest walking in woods or by water (preferably both). And if you can't sleep, Epsom salts in a bath before bed.

Sorry I was missing in action yesterday and today. I have a dose of the Ds and Vs which have been awkward because my loo is separate to my bathroom so I have had to take a bowl into the bathroom with me because I have been V-ing at the same time as the other:eek: I have not been in to 'work' but I have been marked as being present. I shall go in tomorrow because I am feeling much better this afternoon.

The sun is out now but it was raining earlier. I walked to the post box to post a birthday card.

BookWorm - try going for a walk through the woods and listen to the birds, that helps to relax me either that or I put some music on and listen to it. I have one particular Tangerine Dream album that I listen to and will take it with me when I go into hospital - it is called Ricochet and that calms me down and relaxes me.

Evening from a tired BW :o It's been a busy week and I'm glad the weekend is finally here.

Thanks for all the relaxation suggestions - I will try them out as still finding it hard to switch off and let go of certain thoughts/worries.

Anyone got anything nice planned for the weekend?

    :)

    Hello BookWorm et al.

Thank goodness it is Friday. Tomorrow I shall do some washing up as the kitchen looks like a bomb has hit it, I also need to sort something out for dinner which means ferretting about in the outdoor freezer for meat. I have a volunteer coming round tomorrow to return his uniform - he has decided that because he isn't going to be allowed to organise events on his own and take all the credit for himself that he has had a hissy fit and quit (we are relieved because there was something not quite right about him and none of us trusted him).

I have to visit my parents and take shopping round for mum and see dad and see if I can get him to give up driving (I will approach it in a roundabout way). Mum rang me tonight to ask how I got on today apparently dad has been mithering her about how I am getting on so now I need to phone every night when I get home and let mum have an update that she can relay to dad.

Need to sort out a box, wrap some presents and go to the post office as it is my best mate's birthday on 4 March.

Not much else planned - how about everyone else?

Plans for the weekend...well still feeling shattered from yesterdays marathon walk. Part of my Explore The Area project. Getting to know the "ins and outs" round here gradually. I've come to the conclusion that people round here are used to "harder" walking than I am - after yesterday's one found me inching my way precariously along a very narrow and RATHER high (as in quite a way to fall) type footpath and nobody here seems to blink an eyelid about it. They mightn't ...but I won't be doing that particular footpath again...as I sorta like to come home in one piece:rotfl:.

Walks in this area seem to involve quite a bit of research sometimes - as I start off by putting into Googlemaps (and being glad that its now possible to put in for directions by public transport - so that I get told what bus to catch). Cue for the system in this area being far from comprehensive. So I then look up Traveline Cymru (which a major local bus company cant be bothered to put all their buses on necessarily) and definitely cant be bothered to put up info I'm used to from previous areas' Traveline site telling me just how far I can go by bus and then have to walk afterwards (I'm used to being told "Its bus x to place y and then you have to walk for 30 minutes to get there") and hence started by thinking that it wasn't possible to get to some places it is perfectly possible to get to, if you do their research for them. You'd think a more rural area would take greater pains to put up all available access details.......rant over.

So it does sometimes take quite a bit of detective work and maybe a bit of wild guessing and then looking up specific bus timetables for buses I "think" might go nearby. Can see a lot of walks will take an hour or two pre-planning doing the work of Googlemaps/Traveline Cymru/main bus operator for them to fill in their "gaps" before I can set off:cool: and don't mention that there are a few buses that are only once a week and I've even found a once a month one:rotfl:.

I always keep on me the phonenumber of "my" local taxi firm to hand/my mobile phone and a reasonable amount of cash just in case I get caught out in the middle of nowhere.

Its not proved possible to join the main walking group here that I planned on (ie a U3A one) - because they don't carshare and you're just told a place to meet that only cars can get to and/or map reference point:(. But the one I have found meets at the same readily accessible point and then carshares if need be. So, I shall be doing another walk with the friendlier group this weekend and duly get "shown" a bit more of surrounding countryside:)

I'm home :D and yawning already...the murder mystery on my bedside table is tempting me.

Getting frustrated trying to renew my TV licence online tonight, last minute because I forgot about it. Keep getting an error code, or a message saying they're doing maintenance...I would have thought the last day of the month was not the best time to choose for site maintenance, but is that just too simple?

And I begrudge every penny :) because I hardly watch any BBC (though I do like The Voice), I'd happily watch no BBC if it meant I didn't need to pay. Oh well, will try again Monday.

Not been doing anything exciting, just plodding along wishing spring would arrive, fed up with the cold, and the rain and snow showers, I need some sun! Been under the weather for a couple of weeks, but on the mend now.

On a positive note, work has been nice and calm, and going well :)

mum2one, hope you heal up in *double quick* time, you didn't pick a common infection, did you?!

If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?
