Hi Ellie
Spring is definitely on the wayhang in there!
I'm desperate I tell you, desperate! I can't wait much longer for spring, I think it's because I work outside, I'm fed up having to wear about 5 layers of clothes every time I go out, I look like the michelin man!
Although thinking about the "winter belly" I've put on, maybe I shouldn't be in such a hurry for the warmer weather, need to lose some of it before it comes out of hibernation :rotfl:
If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?0 -
I know what you mean about the layers...I was complaining at work the other day that it takes so long to get ready and go anywhere in the winter with all the layers, coats, gloves, scarves, etc0

Exactly Bookworm. At least I can hide a bad hair day under a hat

I am home.
Sorry to hear that you are feeling unwell MotherNerd hope you feel better soon.
I picked up a duster and the furniture polish today and dusted the hall and the stairs. All the plates and dishes have been washed along with the cutlery and all my saucepans. Meat has been ferreted out of the freezer - stewing steak for Monday and the joint of beef I bought at C using my Orchard voucher and £1.74 in coins.
I watched the rugby - nice to see Wales beat France, and The Voice - loved some of the singers especially when Will-I-am put the two opera singers together and he chose one and the other was stolen by Tom Jones.
I waited in all day for the twerp to come and drop off the uniform:mad: Too bad if he comes tomorrow because I shall be out - I have to get some bread, milk and carrots. If the weather is ok I will drive to see my parents.
Managed to book two stalls for the event in the park in August too so now we will have some lovely fresh coffee and cake, as well as some games, mini bouncy castles for toddlers and someone to compere it (he will have his events lorry). Need to book a band, a facepainter, first aiders and get the local police and fire brigade involved. Things are slowly coming together.0 -
Hi Horace - sounds like you have had a busy but productive day. How annoying that the person you were expecting didn't arrive0

As yet another month disappears, I just wanted to de-lurk across the 3 threads I follow to say a really big ‘Thank You’ to all the people posting. I can generally make enough time with my morning cuppa to have a quick read through the daily e-mail of posts. You all keep me so inspired. This month I start on the decorating, but I have still far too much junk so decluttering will be continuing for many months to come as well. I’ve set myself the task of decorating just enough this month to look good in the photographs and then I can do the finishing off bits after that but can continue with placing the house on the market in time for the Easter visitors who come over house hunting.
I’ve not posted for ages as I find it difficult to settle down and write when I feel stressed. At the moment I’m trying to do up my old farmhouse for sale here in France on no income in order that I can sell it for enough to be able to move back to the UK. The current plummet of the Euro against the Pound does not help either.
My aim is to get it on the market in April; last month the primary goal was to start decluttering my life so thank you Guineapigsqueaks (No Clutter) for your thread and everyone posting on it. I may still have a house full of junk but my knickers are all beautifully folded now. Thank you to Lavanderbees (OS Singlies) for your thread and all posters on it, which is like a chat over coffee with a group of friend and keeps me going. And a thank you to Slowdown (NOT BUYING IT!) and all posters there, for making me really conscious of what I spend and inspiring me to allocate what money I do have in a way that give me the greatest benefit. :T :T :T
So thank you all again for inspiring, educating, supporting and entertaining me; hopefully once I get back into a good headspace and feel a bit more relaxed – or even back to the UK with a job! – I can be more of a participant. :j :beer:Aiming for a Champagne Lifestyle on a Lemonade Budget

Hi, All
Happy St David's Day! And Happy Birthday to my Little Miss Millie Mops. She is one around this weekend, so I have chosen today in honour of her lovely welsh "Aunty" Byatt
I've had a rather up and down emotional time this past few weeks. Toxic siblings refusing to go away despite settling Mam's estate...they remind me of a bad smell, and I still am very worried about longevity of my job.
On the plus side, I have started critically assessing my wee house...trying to look at each room with fresh eyes and have made a wee start on some improvements that won't cost much, but as one friend said, will help calm my mind. So, wee things like getting an electrician out to put extra sockets in so wires and extension leads are tidied away. :T...Of course, now I need a plasterer..., and then will need to decorate...:p
:rotfl:
And so it goes...
On Friday, I dug up all the overgrown and tatty plants in my front garden, and unearthed a load of old bricks. Today, I am going to get a few flagstones and reuse the bricks to give the garden a bit of structure, and then plant in between these...
I also have a new gate to paint when the weather gets nicer, and will need to get help to hang it.
So, wee changes, but all trying to take small steps forward. Springtime usually gets me moving forward, but this spring I must confess to feeling a bit low, so I am hoping that pushing myself to take these steps will get me going in the right direction.
Hope you are all feeling good today. Enjoy your Sundays whatever your plans

Happy 1st of March everyone. Spring is well and truly on its way here. We have beautiful blue skies and all the daffodils are dancing in the breeze.
Lovely to hear from you Lavender Bees. I often wonder how the "original" posters are doing. Especially Calicocat and Byatt. I hope they are both happy and doing well.
This thread is certainly a lovely place to be for us singlies.
I'm having a day indoors today doing loads of jobs that I've been meaning to do for ages. The only way for me to do this is to stay in Jim-jams all day so I don't procastinate and end up going for a walk along the beach. Although lovely, I'll still have them to do when I get back. So I'd rather get everything out of the way!!
Have a lovely day all!0
