Morning all
I'm feeling a bit shabby today but no sympathy as it's totally self inflictedI went to a friends birthday party last night. We drank, laughed and danced well into the early hours. I intend to have a lazy day today to recover

Money - the horrid movie was something that played automatically (I have since changed my settings again so that videos now only play if I press the button). It was showing something that the sender claimed was actions of the Israeli army so I told her firmly that she was wrong as what I was seeing was being done under Sharia Law and Israelis follow Judaism which is totally different. I sent the message out loud and clear as well as reporting said friend - I have noticed that she has since gone quiet probably contemplating on what she should and shouldn't send in future. Sometimes people can be so insensitive.
BookWorm - sounds like you had a roaring time last night - hopefully you can have a restful day on the sofa doing nowt.
Got up feeling a bit meh, my tummy can gurgle for England at the moment (it is really loud), I feel cold, and my throat feels a bit strange and I am also feeling a bit sniffly. I am spending the day in the warm being lazy.0 -

Shame there isn't a painkiller smilie to put here
Glad you had a fun night out though & we all need to let our hair down once in a while. Lazy day going well? Congrats on the lottery win too :T
Mum2one - what a palaver! So glad to hear you're recovering, but I hope you get some better luck soon. You are certainly due some.
Horace - that clip sounds vile & illustrates what I hate about b***dy FB in that you can't unsee or unread horrible things, sent intentionally or not.
Dizzybuff - hope court went OK & here's a virtual :coffee: for you.
I owe a huge thank you to whoever posted the link/info about the free courses on FutureLearn - I'm addicted (but its very MSE) & although my housework is suffering, I feel completely exonerated as its educational :rotfl: Also setting my school hating kids a good example about studying being a lifelong experienceMaybe I'm trying to justify all the time spent online a little too much? Feels like I've put on some weight though by being such a blob for half term
Also great free courses on Coursera - I did the Earth Sciences one & it was fab.
Not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow - I could potter for the rest of my days if money was no object.....& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin

I see...I thought that when you said "snuff movie" you meant snuff movie (from what I understand they are like), ie a few individuals murdering someone at a "personal" level. Not a video of part of what is happening in a war.
Ah... I understand now what it is. Personally, I wouldn't have reported a video of something happening in a war - with or without getting it right about who was the "guilty country" that time round. That's war and killing people is part of what wars are about...sad to say...
I'd have just zoomed past the war clip onto the next item posted (same as I wont watch newsreel stuff about the 2nd World War even...though that's now back before most people were born). All articles/videos/films (even set at fictional level) re wars come under the same "setting" in my mind as "horror - avoid it" and I don't watch tv news partly for that reason (as there's always some war or wars going on somewhere..) and I just get too depressed/cynical about the human race to watch things like that.0 -

Sadly not... I had to make a dash to the DIY shop to get supplies to tackle a blocked drain in the bathroom.
Weather is also vile so it wasn't fun at all!0 -

Oh that's a bit rubbish - good luck with it all! Ashamed to says I'm still in PJs here; clean ones as I have had a shower but just CBA to get dressed. Will have to wear real clothes to work tomorrow, so am making the most of my last day of freedom.
Weather is yuck here too - was going to drag kids out for some fresh air but CBA to do that either & they don't want to get wet. So we're not really doing anything constructive.... It's great& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin

It's cold and been sleeting, hopefully change for the better tomorrow. Just about to get stuff ready for Dr but they don't go back to Tuesday... A lie in for us all in the morning.
A lottery win last ngt- got exicted - it was £25 better than a kick in the teeth... Thou by the time it's been shared including not he dog - £5 each.
Waiting patiently for my eBay sales - finish tomorrow so far got 7/22 with bids others got a lot of watchers so hopefully be some more.
At least back to gp surgery from tomorrow for dressing, the hca did it today and bless her heart offered to arrange for district nurse but didnt know whether they could get sorted for tomorrow, it sounds daft but at least going out I know I can get a shower just b4 I go.
Hope everyone ok xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Spent most of the day on my own doing research on the internet. Walked through town and got the bus home - one that drops me off at the bottom of the hill.
Had a cheese sandwich for tea and a buttered crust. - I like to live dangerously:rotfl: Found my pal's phone number and tonight I phoned him via Skype - it cost me 13p to call Los Angeles, the line was a bit iffy though.
It has gone midnight, my vision is blurred and it is time for bed.0 -
It's quiet around these parts
Hope everyone is ok
I feel a bit of out sorts this week - not poorly - just things on my mind and I'm finding it hard to relax and switch off. Anyone got any tips for relaxation?0 -
Bookworm,
Don't know what the weather will be like in your area but, if its not too bad, then perhaps a walk (preferably somewhere nice and country-ish) and thoughts tend to become clearer imo whilst out focusing on surroundings/having some exercise like that. Take a notebook and biro with you in case of any helpful thoughts whilst striding around.
There's also relaxation videos on YouTube..you know they're doing something when you're asleep before the end of them (as I was the other day when I put on one of those self-regression ones as to "Who were you in your last life?"). But there are many there just of the general relaxation type to soothing music.0
