Hi Mishmogs welcome to our thread.

Money, the job would eventually be paid but I have to work as a volunteer for a couple of months first. As I am in the office, I was allowed to have a mug of tea (more than one if I had wanted and I was offered some toast) nor did I have to stick my hand in my pocket to pay for it.

Had to smile earlier because I had to minute a 2 hour meeting and although the 'secretary' said that she always did it, she could only produce a paragraph yet I minuted the whole thing and will probably have produced about 3 pages of type (6 pages of minutes). She was surprised at the amount I had taken even though I also participated in the meeting.

PPE is personal protection equipment and litter pickers should have steel toe capped boots, a high vis vest, thick work gloves, the litter picker too. Instead they are just given the litter picker and have to wear their own clothes. I dread to think what they do with the needles they find because they don't have a sharps box. I hate the injustice of it all really because the others have been there so long they are afraid and won't speak up for themselves.

I came to a decision today that I will stay for as long as it takes for me to get a mentoring qualification and as I am considered to be 'staff' that is training that is offered only to staff. I would stay in the job for 12 months at most. I will most definitely be paid but I can't wait to see his face when I tell him how much salary I want:rotfl:

Had to laugh earlier, Mum was telling me where I should get off the bus and how I should walk along various streets which are close to where her nan lived. I told her that I had found a different route and could get off at a bus stop, 4 stops sooner than the one I usually get off at. I just have to watch crossing the road. I must give her the phone number too so that if something happens to dad she can ring me at 'work'.

Mum made pancakes for dad tonight - bless him, he dared to complain that the first one was not perfectly round (the first one never is) so she had that one and made more which were all perfect - dad managed to eat two with lemon and sugar. Mum made enough for 3 people so will be freezing some. I think Mum spoils dad a bit yet she will always moan at me because he complains about the slightest thing. I am waiting for him to ask her to cut the crusts off his sandwiches - so far he hasn't done that yet.:rotfl:

Just back from 4 hrs in a and e the lovely abbess burst it was Manky, they've cleaned it up but go to go back in at 8am for day surgery, they didn't wAnt to keep me in as there wAs no one from the breast team in, so home and get a few hrs rest... Thou padded up to hold any gunk shouldn't laugh the dressings look like old style sanitary pads - got 2 of them there.

Absolutely petrified about it all, more annoyed with myself as I was trying to hold out to Monday before going to gp as had plans with dd, all being well she'll still go bowling with her friend 2mor got to check with the mum with dad going and not me, they've met dad and he drops the girl with dd as well going for the ride off so it's not as bad as it sounds.

Fingers crossed - do you think I might get a nice pair of 36c at the end of it! Xx

Not the best back in hospital the absess has caused a massive infection as well as taking deep route, so on Iv drip of antibiotics awaiting an operation theyve got to cut out dead skin as well so looks like be a couple days in hospital then be transferred to the breast clinic for outpatients and then be battery of scans an early mamagram feeling pretty peed off as well as scared witless.

On a positive my one item on eBay started at 99p has hit £10.50 ready with 5 days left xx

Mum2One - sorry to hear that you have been hospitalized due to a poxy abcess. Sending some virtual hugs to help you feel better - I will be careful not to squash your wound.

Had a better day at the placement today, I have been moved into a different office which is behind security doors because some of the folks that have to go litter picking etc have complained that I am not doing what they are doing.

Had fun in the office - the minutes had been typed up already so I was given the task of finishing a funding application (I have finished it as far as I can) and then I was told to look for other streams of funding and found some more for community gardens and one for teaching disadvantaged kids music - I have been told that I can be the lead on the music project. I have been asked to help with a project in the local schools running workshops for girls so that they know their self worth and that they can in fact do anything. I am also involved in the organisation of a 2 day festival to celebrate Jamaica's Independence (I won't be working at it though because my own event is on the same day).

I went out at lunchtime and had a surprise, I found the road named after my great aunt:D It didn't look like much because a lot has changed in the area. But to actually see it, I am so chuffed.:j

I now have a work email address too.

Dizzybuff, do you have someone to go with you to court? I took a friend, was still a gibbering wreck...but glad she was with me.

Sometimes I loathe Fb...the type of people you are open to is sometimes horrendous. Their evilness towards people whilst professing care for animals, is just distressing. I understand anger, I understand the desire to hit someone, but to be abusive about people and wanting them dead, just beggars belief...it's just my opinion but witch hunts via Fb is wrong. It's a shame because Fb can also be a drive for positive change. The latest thing has truly upset me, so once again will probably deactivate.

Mum2one, if you can, let us know how you are xx

Oh Mum2one - hope you're doing OK, what carp news. Have a gentle, dodgy :grouphug:. I had a very small blockage when I was breastfeeding which was blinkin painful, so can only imagine how sore you are. Thinking of you.

I hate FB with a vengeance Byatt - I'm no longer on it due to personal abusive messages & will never go back, but I do miss looking at friends photos etc. I know so many people who never have any problems, which is great, but I also know a few who have been so upset by it. Poisonous people seem to get everywhere, don't they?

Not too exhausting here even though it is half term & DD & DS are having x-box challenges with various friends. Not a sign of any homework/revision being done despite my gentle persuasions.... Have managed to get 2 cabinets & a bread maker from the local hospice shop delivered for almost £100 so I'm happy. First loaf has worked out well & its soooo much nicer that shop sliced. None of the furniture matches in my front room anyway (apart from all being second hand), so the cabinets fit in well :rotfl: & hopefully it'll keep the room a bit tidier....

My superpowers? I'd like the good health forever power (including righting a few wrongs like my dodgy back) & the invisibility cloak too. I'd also love to be able to point at something so it finds its correct home immediately. Handy for tidying up, & ex would be in his rightful place under the patio :D
& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin :D

ohhh m2o, I hope you are ok. That sounds extremely painful and you have my sympathy. I won't offer to give you a hug but here is one virtually :grouphug:!

Horace - sounds like you have done alright with the 'job' and finding a road named after your great aunt is an added bonus. Famous family!

dizzybuff - second the idea to take a pal with you on Friday. It will soon be over. Good luck.

Agree with others on here, some people are vile especially on fb. and I wonder what motivates them. It seems to be a modern phenomenon and one which is appalling, if someone is being so awful then are they who we really thought they are?

The guests have gone on a trip to see their show being performed by another dramatic society and won't be back till nearly midnight and all chores are uptodate. Not a lot else going on today so will clear off.....
