OS Singlies - We Do It Our Way!

Horace, when I'm going somewhere new, I often look at a website called streetview. Do you ever use it? You can "jump into" the map and drive along the streets and see what the area looks like. It's really useful. (I'm on it, the camera car passed me one day
)
The daffs sound just my price range, will try and get some this weekend.
If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?0 -
I only ever buy flowers when they are on offer...so yes mooch in on Sunday. I was hoping they'd reduce their Valentine meal offers but think I might be expecting too much on that one. I have been known to complain that there were no Easter eggs left...a day after Easter...:D
I went to the gym yesterday, I enjoy it once there, just not good with the motivation getting there. I could quite easily do nothing at all...0 -

My mother gave both my sons christmas selection boxes...last week!
And yes, if she gets easter eggs it will be the week after :rotfl:
We like a bargain.

Hello all - not been around for ages, so apologies for not catching up with you all but I'm just going to jump straight in. Hope all of you are well & coping with whatever fresh rubbish life is throwing at you. I'm not doing too well with it all & have a slight
hangover this morning from crawling into a bottle of Merlot last night - very silly & I should know better at my age.

I'm aiming to have a whole 2 days of this weekend, dedicated only to pleasing me...fire lit, snuggle throws, chocolate (no alcohol), dvds, books, maybe a little gardening if the weather is kind enough, but then again, maybe just lazing.....the joys of dedicating chill out time to yourself should never be underestimated.
I start with a nice steak (bearnaise sauce...yum!) and chips tonight when I get home from work .....
Hope everyone enjoys their weekend. Of course, I'm expecting a good part of my weekend to be spent opening St Val's cards ....not....
LB xx
Not a single card here LB - just 3 charity requests.... I wasn't really expecting one! I'm liking the idea of buying some reduced flowers, but then I'd need to get dressed to leave the house & somehow that doesn't seem quite so appealing :rotfl: I hope you have the w/e you've planned & that work/life doesn't get in the way as it sounds grand.Another singlies day
Of course, we're thrifty OSers, so we should wait until Sunday when the flowers might be half price :rotfl:
Is that really sad, buying reduced valentines flowers? I quite fancy some daffodils, not looking for red roses!...
Well if I was tired last week, I'm positively catatonic this week. My children are much too generous and shared their viruses with me, so I've got the worst cold I've had for years. I'm really annoyed at the timing (and I tried hard not to catch it, lots of hand washing, no sharing towels, I wouldn't even let them make me a cup of tea!), because my DM is having chemo, and this is just the moment when I should be there to help, and I can't go near her  She catches colds really easily, and when she does she has breathing problems for months. Will phone her later to see if she needs anything.
I'm sure we'll all be busy opening all the cards tomorrow
Ellie - I hope your DM is getting on OK. How awful for you that you have to keep away at such a time when you want to help. Darn children are just so good at oversharing. Remember my 2 picking up all sorts of germs when my Dad was having radiotherapy & I was so torn with wanting to help out but not being able to.

Motivation isn't my strong point either. Wouldn't it be good it you could just be transported directly to & from the gym & home? Sure I'd exercise a little more than I do now if this was possible :rotfl:
*Waves* to BW :hello:
Horace - I use street view & its great.& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin

Another Street View fan. I still find it very clunky and with a lot of bugs in it that need ironing out. I was taking a "virtual walk" around my home city yesterday and finding the system "blew" at intervals or wouldn't let me go up a street I know perfectly well cars can go up. So it still needs a lot of work by Google before it works well, but it helps a lot.
"Transported straight to gym" eh? I've got a list of "impossible skills" I would like to have. Obviously the first one has to be total control of my body (how wonderful to know there would never again be any problems with my health or looks:cool:) and it would save money on "subsidising the NHS" (as I call it personally) any time I have to spend out on healthcare because the NHS wont.
The second "impossible wish" is to be able to magically transport myself wherever I want/whenever I want. Errrm....I could instantly list off 20 places that I would find it very useful to have "instant transportation" to. With the "errrm" being that every single one of them is back in my home area:think::whistle:. That would be "best of both worlds" = everything I'm used to and a half-price house to what I could get back there/lower pollution levels I have here/lower number of people like I have here.
Has anyone got access to Startrek abilities? Beam me up Scotty...:rotfl:. Thinks...now what other "impossible abilities" would I like....magicking up however many £10 notes I would like would also be pretty useful.
Anyone thought though that one would have to keep extremely quiet about any unusual abilities on the one hand and hope to goodness no-one else had them on the other hand (as things would get messed up big time darn fast if everyone else could do the same....). The thought of just how many extra people would move to Britain for a start-off would be horrific.
Thought for the day being = what "impossible abilities" anyone else would like to have and why..0 -
You would have to hide your abilities in case the government (or our so called allies) kidnapped you to use you for military purposes. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0

Well....criminals was my first thought...but yep translate "criminals" to "government"....same difference:rotfl:0 -
Hello peeps
Got up late again today - am now fed up of barking dogs:mad: Pottered about not doing much. Visited my next door neighbour as she was home alone and we had a cuppa and a natter. Bless her, her husband bought her a trifle and keeps doing so every time he goes shopping and she is getting fed up, I was sent home with it and she is going to say that she ate it.:rotfl:
Mum invited me to dinner tomorrow but I have declined because I am preparing dinner for Monday (something to bung in the slow cooker). She asked me about a spare key to my house because she has lost hers (thankfully - the thought of her just turning up fills me with dread). She asked about the housework and if I was on top of it so I said that I had to do some this weekend. My plan is to do some tomorrow.
I will look at streetview again.0 -

Hmm...the magical transportation would be good. I have relatives in Australia who ask me to visit, but I can't face the journey (I can get car sick going a few miles!) Maybe I'm just too lazy to do it.
I'd like the ability to eat whatever I fancied (bar of chocolate on a Saturday night anyone?), and not put on any weight. Obviously I'd start this plan from a perfect size 10 or size 12
I'd also like to play a musical instrument well, a guitar I think. And before you say that's not an impossible ability, if you knew my complete lack of musical ability, you'd understand :rotfl:

If i could have an impossible ability, ok a couple
1st - lose weigh while I sleep, and the kin go with in, and choc be good for me
2nd - Be invisable and be erase certain documents and make sure my ex pays all his child support arrears included
3rd - Like to take a yr to travel all the places I want to, loose the cutches, the exta weight all the health probs and be normal... but keep the priority boarding that I get now!!!
Hope eveyones ok, been an up and down week, I'm sporting a lovely absess which protrubs 1in, covers 3/4 of my bristol, and a lovely shade of red. Mass panic, my doc was lovely, although she told me off nicely for not checking regulary, she did it nicely.
The result is I have blocked milk ducts, which are infected, and caused an absess... which can happen normally in pregnancy or feeding....
But...... I'm def not pregnant, be a scientific miracle, as dd is now 12, that eludes the other ... so I offically a medical mystery... on antibiotics forr a week, then review, so could be hospital visit.... not that I dont spend enough time there...
I know this may sound daft coming from a virtual "mum2one" but please make sue your checking regulary, xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0
