I'd love a walk on the beach, our nearest coast, is 75miles... thou my fav place to chill at the beach was down South Devon, done many a thought or two sat on the sea wall...

Another trip to get the dressing changed, 1st time I looked at it today the hole is size of a 50p....

Bit weird, went to the hospital, as the walk in doctors hangs out there, and it was a male hca, he did ask if I wanted to wait and see a female nurse, I just said I don't mind if he don't mind he also asked if I wanted a chaperone again no, just get it done.
I did think in a way, yes I'd prefer a female, but then I told myself that its an everyday job for them, the way my boob been exposed over the last 10 days, feels more out than in my bra...

Can't believe were on 1st march where does time fly to, 2 weeks and its Mothers day.... then 3 weeks after that Easter... wonder what the supermarket will replace the shelves with --- selection boxes, xmas puds.... xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

mum2one, I hope you're managing to get some sleep, I notice you're posting in the middle of the night again. Did they say at the hospital if you were making progress on the healing?

Touch wood there pleased with the healing process of the absess thou it's the hole it's semi manky, it's just a week and half post-op they ended up having to clear out the size of Palm of my hand the hole is size of 50p. Being diabetic means any healing take longer. Having to keep a bra on 24/7 for support, more worried. Out going down the mamagram route early, I'm 43. The antibiotics I'm on one course finished Friday the other 2mor whether they've been enough to do gd were not sure they can only treat 2 of 3 of the bacteria as can't take pencillian - know fri as back to clinic - this rate over taking dad with his hosp appointments. He's doing ok he's on no 7 of 8 chemo but he's got a hernia not sure what there going to do about it, it's get the chemo out of the way then scans to see whether any cancer left, then may its end the last of his blood thinning injections thou he then goes on to tablets - he's taking part in a medical trail - as to whether cancer patients will be benefit from 12 mths of blood thinning for blood clots rather than 6 as current he will either be on blood thinning tablets or the placebo ones.

I find a Sunday ngt I play catch up so 2am usual bed time but last ngt just couldn't get to sleep thou had a morning nAp, back off for dressing change later.

Plan after that is to get some of dads trousers on eBay- he has a wardrobe full of clothes most are new hey don't fit - he's gone from a 32waist to a 40 ...

Glad it's improving mum2one. Your post about the male hca reminded me of my experience back when I was in my 20's...saw the consultant about a gynae problem shall I say...hopped onto the bed when he said he had a student or two and would I mind. Uhhhmmmm, no I don't mind..

half the flipping student population came in, male and female, to peer at my nether regions. I was this colour:o::o

I ended up having an evening out on work yesterday. It was a last minute stand in thing and so I feel pretty weary today. Looking forward to vegging on the sofa tonight ;)

Mum2one - that sounds awful - hope you are on the mend soon hun

Byatt - Interesting timing for that story as I had the delightful indignity of my smear test this morning. I was :o with just the nurse never mind a room full of students  you have my sympathy!

Anyone wanna come and cook me some tea? :p ha ha

I once had a smear test done by my GP (male) at the local surgery...
apparently I had some erosion which was so interesting that he went to the door and yelled in a couple of nurses to have a look as well. The whole waiting room could hear him

I've had a pottering at home day, and only went out to go for physio. I'm such a special little flower that my injury doesn't even have a name :rotfl: It's the first time the physio has seen it, maybe she should name it after me :rotfl:
So feeling a little delicate tonight.

I have been dieting for one whole day :D
I need a kick up the b u m...weighed myself this morning and I've put on 9 lbs since last autumn and I need to sort it before it gets any worse. I could just eat something nice :o

    indeed Ellie!!

Re: the dieting. I find that if I keep wanting something sweet/naughty/whatever, I distract myself with something else and it helps me to refocus. The other tactic I have is just not having anything remotely naughty in the house :rotfl:

Or take a very "objective" look in the mirror. Ohmygawd about summed up my reaction last time I did that....

Do NOT listen to any other people that tell you you look fine as you are.

I find I often get comments about my figure being fine as it is...but I know they're wrong...as their eyes have been "trained" into getting used to the plumper bodies many people have had for the last 10/20 years or so and aren't telling them the truth as to how people should look.

It's a salutary experience to see films/photos/etc from, say, the 1970s at intervals to keep images firmly in front of your mind as to how people normally look (well...make that used to look...).

Me - I'm now shattered...LONG walk on Sunday/dance class on Monday/exercise class today...am trying to tell myself I must do at least one thing per day (even if its only a walk to and from "town" = which equals 20 minutes worth, ie one mile walked) but to try not to let myself off the hook of doing at least 3 noticeable exercise type things per week.

I tell ya...moving to pretty ruralish Wales boils down to "kill or cure" imo...what with all the walking you have to do anyway (courtesy of those hourly bus services - if that).

I reckon I'll either be dead on my feet or dead fit by a few months time one way and another:rotfl:.

Now does anyone have any good YouTube tv programmes/films/etc from a "slim era" (eg the 1970s) that I can watch to refresh my memory at intervals as to what "normal size" looks like?? Vague idea there were some good comedy series on tv then??

The other thing that is helping me keep focused is that the size labels on my clothes may say size 14 - but, if those clothes have been bought in the last few years, then the label lies and they are really size 18 and to get my normal figure back again (ie size 14) then that means wearing clothes with a size 10 label on them these days. Add remembering a shopping expedition I went on with someone else looking for clothes for her back in the 1970s and I just took her into the shops I normally went in and there was absolutely nothing in her size (she was a present day size 18 or 20 I would think - ie size 20-22) and we had to go into the shop called Evans Outsize at that time to find clothes for her. The reason being clothes shops just didn't stock clothes over size 14 (or was it 16 if you were lucky). In other words it would not be possible to find clothes in a bigger size than the 21st century size 10 or 12 in any normal clothes shop.

Very good tips, I do try to not have naughty stuff in the house, and when I buy for DS1 I buy stuff which doesn't appeal to me.
I was doing quite well last year until I let stuff going on in real life affect my eating, and now I've got used to eating more again.
Just need to get back to it before the good weather arrives. I can't go back to the weight loss thread until I'm committed to doing it properly!

    I've just eaten a chocolate biscuit :o
