If you called it "ointment" would that make him more amenable?
DD was supposed to have furniture delivered tonight but got a message that the seller had decided to give it to a family member instead. I had a look on another site and found something gorgeous and well priced but it was collection only so having a disappointing day.
Tidied kitchen, dishwasher going and cooker hob cleaned etc.
Going to have early night and set off tomorrow with another DD to get bank stuff sorted but there are only a few buses a day so need to get DH sorted out for a big breakfast and lunch ready to heat up before we go."This site is addictive!"

Botox has medical uses as well as cosmetic. .:D
I've had Botox, twice or three times now.
This double-vision that i've got, i've had a couple of OPs and got another one due, but before they did surgery they tried Botox. It was injected into the back of the eye in the hope that the muscles would relax. It did work for a while but the hospital told me i'd probably have to keep going back for the rest of my life getting top-ups.
I'm scared of needles anyway but i wasn't looking forward to this going in my eye, the nurse said i needn't worry and there were women out there paying hundreds for the amount of Botox i was getting for free.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

I normally get the key fob battery changed when I have the car serviced but I didn't get it serviced last year, I just had it MOT'd. I shall go to the car spares place tomorrow to find out what kind of battery I will need because I have a tiny Phillips screwdriver so should be able to change the battery myself because it is held together with a tiny Phillips screw.
Elona - I don't think that dad will use it if we said it was ointment, he is 80 next month and has become as stubborn and awkward as anything. There are times I could give him a good shake. He is also becoming lazy - mum was busy cleaning one day and asked him to make her a pot of tea because she didn't feel well, he put the kettle on and she had to make the tea herself. She told me that one night when she was feeling bad (she has had a chest infection since before Christmas), he piped up that he wanted a sandwich so mum told him to make it himself - he didn't and went without.0 -
Hello peeps
It has been a busy old day - did not sleep well as I was getting up every hour. I had to try and help my next door neighbour because he was having trouble with his house alarm - it has never been serviced and when a lightbulb or anything else electrical goes down (either through wear and tear or a power cut) the house alarm goes off. Well I haven't heard language like it - he is such an angry man, but he rushed out and left the front door wide open so anyone could have walked in. He refuses to pay the £60 to have it serviced and repaired.
I took my old plates and bowls to the charity shop and then drove to the car dealership to get my key fobs sorted out both batteries were dead (I can now lock the car remotely). I also got a quote for replacing the anti roll suspension bushes at the front of the my car, not as bad as I thought it would be at £105 including parts, labour and VAT.
Nipped into Aldee and got myself some filtered milk, yoghurts, bread, tins of veg, cereal, coffee and even a bottle of maple syrup as well as a few other bits.
Spoke to mum yesterday and agreed to take the brass bells that grandma always had on her mantelpiece - these are in varying sizes and include queens, imps etc. She told me that my cousin would have them and put them in the loft, I said I would have them and put them on my mantelpiece so that I have a mix of old a new in my house. Mum no longer has the time to clean them.0 -
A bit actually big shock this morning was having annual asthma check up and the usual jump on the scales - waiting to get a lecture, sit down, can we try again - ok- then she weighs herself - ask if everything ok- that's when she says she wanted to double check for herself - I've lost 30kg in old money -2stone 3lbs or as she put in 60 packets of butter. Lowest I've weighed since 2002 - the weight now was what I weighed just before I had Dd. She asked what diet been on - apart from the stress diet none, hopefully can shift more next target be 6kg less - be the weight was before I got pregnant - still a wack more to go after that but I step at a time. No wonder jeans been feeling lose I thought the elastic had gone in the wash.... Xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0

Mum2one, how could you not notice??? :rotfl:
However it happened, well done :T
If the stress diet is that good, maybe I'll lose some more soon. I don't know what to worry about first right now, DM is having to have chemo again, BIL is in hospital with very serious problems, I have a financial decision to make which would mean a big difference in the money I have coming in each month (but not as easy as it sounds, keeping the extra money means a lot more stress) and we're still clearing aunts flat out (with a DM who wants to see my every move, but is now ill herself!)
I go to bed thinking about everything, and as soon as I wake up I start on it again, I'm getting very jittery, and having to write everything down in case I forget something important. Feeling very low and can't see myself perking up until the weather gets warmer. It's forecast snow again tomorrow, makes working so much more difficult.
Unfortunately my stress diet usually involves chocolate

Mum2One Well done on the weight loss - alas the stress diet doesn't work for me because I put weight on when I want it to come off.
Ellie I feel your pain and can understand the jitters and not feeling motivated. I am feeling this way too - my mum's cousin is back on chemo (she was in remission but she has bone cancer), her brother is still undergoing chemo for bowel cancer, dad is fading and very frail, mum is trying to do everything and she isn't well either. Everything is coming at once:(
I could not change the key fobs batteries myself because my keys are coded so it cost me £10.01. The car dealership must have a new service manager because I did not recognise any of the staff - I am so pleased they have a new service manager because the chap who was there before was an ignorant buffoon - once telling me to go shopping like a good girl needless to say I took my car elsewhere after that. I am only back at the dealership because the garage where I took my car and had great service from for years has started to get complacent (the owner is hardly ever there and he doesn't seem to care plus his staff are rude).
Need to phone the HMRC tomorrow as I am having trouble logging in to complete my tax return - hopefully I will be able to do it over the phone. Plus I think I signed up for the wrong assessment and that I should have signed for a business and not as self employed. The deadline of 31 Jan is looming and I don't want to get a thousand pound fine for late submission.
I think I bought too much milk today - I didn't realise that I had about half a litre left (this has been decanted into a small jug and a mug). I have 4 litres of milk that I picked up in Aldee today - their filtered milk is cheaper than Craven Dale.
If I had enough money on me when I was in Aldee then I might just have bought some soft fruit for the garden as they are selling 3 in a pack for £2.49 - I had thought of getting goosegogs because they are thorny and thorns might deter the squirrels. I also fancy some raspberries. I will have to see how I am fixed at the end of next week.0 -
How is everyone getting on with the winter weather?
Quite a lot of the yucky white stuff here, I've spent over 2 hours clearing snow today, mine and a neighbours drives and paths. It's quite addictive, kept wanting to do just a little bit further
Unfortunately I think there is a bit more forecast for tonight, so all my lovely clear bits may be covered up again. I don't have to work today, but I do tomorrow
The trees do look lovely though.
Going to spend the afternoon having a gentle tidy up, now have an aching back!
