Afternoon all - thank goodness it is Friday. I signed on as normal and asked when I was going to get my money well it has all been sorted now because they called me earlier and I get it next week.
Had a weird email from my ex employer but a phone call has sorted it out.
Feeling a lot more positive today. Nipped to big expensive supermarket on the way home from the dole office and came out with bread and a birthday card for a 4 year old as well as some pineapple jelly. Went to leave the store and was almost knocked out by dope fumes so I went back into the store and made a complaint. Store security told me that they had tried speaking to the college and as their requests for the students to hang about elsewhere has fallen on deaf ears - the police are going to have to be called. It isn't good walking into the store through a fug of dope fumes and you can even smell it in the foyer of the store:mad:.
S'pose I had better get some lunch especially now I have some nice crusty bread for a sandwich.0 -
Thanks Horace, will look out for the shampoo when next in Ald! I have all sorts of stuff for adding volume, but it does get me down sometimes. Definitely make use of your friends offer in LA if you get the chance to go. I've had a couple of facials in the past and they were fab.
Well, I've bitten the bullet and joined the gym! Aim is to lose weight and get fit...the good thing is there will be others like me, not the usual gym buffs that make me feel inadequate.
I have no idea what dope smells like, I am such an innocent0 -
Byatt - dope smells like a weird sweet herby smell (I guess I have lived in Brum far too long because it seems to be smoked like normal fags up here plus I spent an age living upstairs from a person growing the stuff which made my flat stink).
Good luck at the gym too. I do my Tai Chi and walk around the park occasionally.
I have spent the evening catching up on the telly that I have recorded over the past two days, there are still programmes to watch including a whole series of James Martin's Home Comforts. It was nice just to chill out and snuggle up under my fleecy blanket.
Praying that it does not freeze tonight because the pavements will be deadly tomorrow, we have just had a torrential rain storm and everywhere is soaked.
Toodle Pip see y'all tomorrow x0 -
hope everyone ok, its been another cold snap, at least not snowing....
have DD poor again, thou this time the doctor has sent her for blood test, so hopefully we will get to the bottom of it. For short term they have given her gavison, they think she has stomach acid among other things.
I just shattered at the mo, its like 1 good nights sleep next night, 5am and I'm awake, hopefully kick itself back into touch.

Have to say bargain hair cuts, 3 dry hair cuts £12 dxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Hello folks
Can't remember what I did yesterday - whatever it was, it wasn't a lot.
Got up a bit late this morning so had to race around before heading to my parents because I had been invited to Sunday lunch. I took mum's FF shopping and now I have to go back to FF tomorrow to get more stock for her store cupboard plus I have a voucher to use too.
Had terrible trouble with my car alarm at mum's - I had knocked the door lock button by mistake and the alarm kept going off, I drove around the block in the end in an attempt to fix the problem. It took 10 minutes to get it out of the loop that it was in. It started playing up again when I got home and the chavs next door but one leaned out of their bedroom window to shout at me - I explained that I had a problem with the car and could they please turn their boom bass music down - it was so loud you could see their windows flexing.
Had lovely dinner at mum's - I lent her a book and she lent me one. I came home with some magazines to read, some ice grippers for my shoes, the remains of the chicken - I said that I would have the legs because I know that neither she nor dad like them and then she started on about how dad wouldn't eat cold chicken so I told her to cut the breast off and keep it for her sandwiches and I bought the carcass home with me to make soup.
Mum has given me a dinner service - she washed it for me, and I had a box of glasses which she also washed and these are all in the cupboard. She also gave me some C cards and an amaryllis.
Dad is unwell - he looks dreadful and I spent some time today trying to persuade him to use moisturizer on his skin but he wouldn't have it because he said it was poofy - E45 cream is not poofy and neither is moisturizer made purely for men. He lectured me on my car and about how I should keep my spare keys with me all the time (I discovered that I need a battery in my spare keys too because it is as dead as a dodo). He seems to think that I will lock myself out like a woman up the road did once when she locked her car keys under the bonnet and had locked herself out of her car - dad had to remove a window to gain entry to the car to pop the bonnet so she could retrieve her keys. I explained that I wasn't that stupid and had never locked my keys in the car in all the years that I have been driving.
Mum and I did have a laugh when we were washing up about a joint of meat that she had picked up in Mr S - a shoulder of lamb that had been stewed, dad ate it without complaint and she didn't have the heart to tell him that it contained garlic:rotfl: Dad is one of these men that likes plain food and none of this foreign muck as he calls anything with garlic in it. He is a picky so and so.0 -
Horace, are you going to replace the battery in your car keys yourself?
A couple of years ago mine stopped working, and when I was in the garage for a service I mentioned about a new battery. I was told the little units can't be opened, and it would cost me over £100 for a new one!!! So you can imagine what I thought about that!
I went home and forced the unit open with a penknife, put in a £3 battery, and put it back together...perfect.
I went out for Sunday lunch on my own today. Not something I'm in the habit of doing, and boring reasons for choosing to do it today, (was away from home on my own and thought I should do something to treat myself). I "cheated" a little, by choosing a hotel which I know have very nice staff. Was definitely the only one there on my own, it was mostly family parties...and the table next to me had to be the one with the 2 crying kids
Did feel slightly odd, I'm not sure dining out is such an occasion when you're on your own...but the food was nice
If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?0
