Happy Birthday - hope you have an awesome day and that you get spoilt. Thanks for the cake it is rather yummy.
Not long home from the village so I have missed out on the Tai Chi, I couldn't be bothered to defrost the car so walked to the doctors and then to the chemist. It is a bit nippy out.
The highlight of the day for me this morning was seeing the sunrise. It was wonderful. Sorry I just paused for a minute to watch two squirrels playing a game of tig in the trees at the end of my garden (thankfully the trees are not in my garden but at the end of the gardens of the street behind).
Best crack on I guess, I have a lot to do today but don't feel like doing any of it.0 -
Happy Birthday

I never say no to cake!
Was going to post earlier but got a phone call from my neighbour inviting me for coffee *right now*...she's 91 and expects her own way, so I do as I'm told :rotfl:
She mentioned a friend who is having a guest in their holiday home...a "man on his own"... how odd!....cue discussion about perfectly normal people holidaying on their own (and she's a lady who has travelled much of the world on her own after being widowed, and still thought this poor man was odd).
I will "third" the thought of being so over the cold weather, totally had enough now!
Really didn't want to go out to work yesterday, it was extremely slippy. Fell out with DS1 because he left me about 2 spare inches to get my car out the drive...really it was because I was scared to go to work, but can't really admit that to him.
I worry that if I damage my car I'll have to find another one in a hurry, and what a hassle that is...and if I injure myself I won't be able to work and who would look after me if I need help. I need to learn to stop worrying!
Not working today, was intending to go shopping but it's still as icy so won't bother, nothing too urgent.
Happiness.v4, oh you lucky thing, turning 30, you're still a youngster

I've wasted some time looking at this site this morning
http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/living-single
I've learnt that in the US, 50.2% of the adult population is single, so they are not in the minority. We've just missed the US National Singles Day on January 11th. I don't think I'm going to be a fan of "singles day"...the organisers want to make it a "retail experience".
Apparently the Chinese singles day is larger than Black Friday and Cyber Monday combined!!! So is it buying things for single people, like couples get gifts on valentines day? I don't know, but I much prefer Lavender Bees Singlies Day, where we just do something nice for ourselves...last thing we need is another crazy buying day!
The lady who writes this blog is single, and has written books about it. It had never occurred to me that there would be books about being single...I don't know why, there's books about everything!
I clicked the link to one of the books on amazon, where it listed other suitable books on "singledom", one of them was Bridget Jones Diary...hmm, I always thought that was fiction :rotfl:

Happy birthday Bookworm.
I am thinking we should celebrate being single everyday. I have just been reading one of my other regular threads and one girl has an OH who expects to be grovelled to should he kick in for a £10 top-up shop, another has a partner earning far more than her but expects all expenses to be split 50/50 (more than her total earnings) and having failed dry January himself on January 1st, spent last night waving his JD and coke under her nose.
Others wondering how you get today's young men to stop acting like little boys (especially with regard to taking responsibility for their own children). So glad to be mostly free of all that - my ex still manages to muddy the waters every so often, despite our sons being 29 to 24 years old and it being 21 years since I divorced him.
Cold and clear here today although still some ice on the ground. Have spent the past 3 days dressed in many layers with a short hooded dressing gown on top, under the bedclothes and with the heating on at times (under the bedclothes was to avoid putting the heating on but didn't work all the time). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0
